new hack tinter in ny long island

all tinters beware we have another hack in ny ez concepts of babylon took on mike corona from dent aid and those hacks are doing tint to the public for $85 bucks full car pathetic but true show no respect to these hacks !!!!!!

there shop is a tent out back with propane heat there electric is ran with speaker wire best of all they have a forsale sign up front and forlease sign or join the venture LOL short sale deadbeats not payiong bills whoring out the industry pathetic bunch of loosers there

they sound mega dogey, i wouldn't tint a car for that low no way in hell unless it were a real close friend then maybe.

i can understand its tough starting out im in that boat now but f$%# these guys sound real bad, and undercutting other tinters and shops by that much is %&$# , they wont last long in the industry and consumers will wonder why its so cheap and be skeptical about what they are paying for.

Call county or city, Code Enforcement on them, or even the Fire Marshall, they'll have to raise there prices at the very least to recoup the fines and the new equipment they be required to buy...

That's is why it is important to play by the rules when you do business....

I would call ICE on them making sure that they are not illegals.

If I was a customer, Id be very nervous bringing my car to a place that tints in a tent. But there are so many people that just want a good price and dont give a rats ass about good quality installs.

Here is a better one..now the guy is drawing in all the local tint and the tinters in the area are branching out to other areas..2 came into one of my accounts looking for work and 1 parks himself there waiting for work...Its going to trickle out of the island and into Queens and infect the whole F@#$% industry!!!!!!

WTF! say's he's never herd of me?! what has he been living under a rock? simple solution joe, put up signs $85 tint jobs for the month of dec. the guy wont make a dime,he'll have to close his doors.then in jan u bump ur prices back up.

Dang, I didn't know there were so many tinters in Long Island...we have a lot of hacks here in Houston. When one closes, another opens. It's a viscous cycle. Ive tried to stay away from automotive and focus on FG. When someone calls and I give them a price, it's always "you can't do it for $--?" No, no I can't. It doesn't bother me as much now b/c it seems normal, but that doesn't make it right.

Im still using better film and still an installer baller...and have good references.

We had a bad hail storm come through about a year and a half (fairly common in these parts). Immediately after, of course, a ton of nomadic paint-less dent repair companies show up. They all tried to rent out one of the bays to do their work but I wouldn't let them cause I didn't want to have to worry about any of my tools coming up missing. (We do a lot more than just tint here). One of them opened up shop in the inspection station next to us and when the dents began to run out instead of just going somewhere else he decided to start tinting for $99 a car. The customers that came by here told me that he was giving lifetime warranties with the film. Pretty much all I had to do with them was explain that in a year or two when the crap film he is installing goes bad he is not gonna be there to warranty it for you. So essentially they have no warranty. That usually sealed the deal for them but there are some people who just want it cheap and don't care that it is gonna cost them down the road. I haven't seen him for awhile but I am sure he will pop back up come season again.

theres a car wash down from me that rents out a bay to tinter and they put there own name on it . They all do $99 jobs and all give lifetime warranties , cash only , cell phone ph # so you know the business isnt even registered. the last guy closed down in Oct ( he was ther for 5 months ) and another one has open with a sign 20 yrs in business $99 lifetime warranty. Only in FLorida

we have a few shops in my city that they say 69.00 cars and 49.00 sliders and bedroom windows for 29.00 they say they use johnson film and i saw a post on craigslist that it was 3m they used.i have called them they tell me they computer cut there film to get a 4 door car done it is 120.00 and that is 4 doors and back window and then if you want the small window done in back door it 10.00 more the reason is they have to put another piece of film in the computer to cut the windows but out side there shop a big sign on there full size van on back doors 69.00 window tint its not

then we have few cubans that come from miami florida to ft myers on the week ends to work at the fleamarket outside under a tent in the parking lot

if they are slow the price is anywhere from 39.00 to 50 dollars and if they are busy the prices is like 89.00 im not sure about what film or quality is but i hear alot of people lol at them around town.

Ya know, I've been contemplating doing something like that here.....I've had two $99 shops open up around me in the past few months, doing "tints" (I hate that!! It's "tinting"!!) So I've been thinking about trying to drown them out, but I can't make my mouth say "99 dollars" Plus it's just not worth it, somebody will pop up in their place It drives me crazy to see them tinting anything!

I use a forced air propane heater

its relatively safe as long as your careful. Mine has a shutoff thing so if the flame goes out it cuts off gas supply. Its some sort of heat expanding thing I like it and its cheap and portable. I'd rather have the tank in my car then 5+ gallons of kerosene, plus propane doesn't have the diesel smell.

I'm new to the game, thats about how much i charge. As far as my close friends are concerned...pshhh! i've hooked many of them up for free! Thats how i roll!
