my wife has recently purchased an embroidering machine. we are new to this. i thought that i could help her out alot being that i design alot of eps files on flexi like every day, but come to find out, theres a whole other very expensive way to do that? and guidance that anyone can give me would be great...we already got alot of money invested into the maching and program...now i have to spend hundreds more on another digitzing program??? like all i wanna be able to do is add a bunch more fonts, and other logos that i can basically import from my flexi program to be embroiderd.

snappy.

well, obviously graphics would have to be digitized differently. think about it, in simple terms the knife is connecting the dots or nodes on your graphic. if an embroidering machine did the same, connected the same dots the way a plotter does....well....i dont think you would sell much embroidery. poking_someone_in_the_eye.gif Flaugh.gif

When the dude around here started, he didnt bother buying the digitizing program. Instead, he hired it out to another company and just charged the customer his cost on getting the logo digitized...a one time "set-up" charge if you will. I think it was about $50-75. Why not do that? Then you are not wasting any time learning the program and then doing all the digitizing? Instead, you are just selling and embroidering...let somebody else do the time consuming stuff. Just like having an employee that you can hire when ya need them!

Thats what I'd do. twocents.gif

PM me snappy, I have a friend that does it.
I will give you his email address, maybe you can farm out the digitizing to him, until y'all get it figured out..

It's a whole other animal all together, the fonts even have different names.....

well. i understan the whole thing about subbing it out, but its just a hopbby my wife does and shes not producing volume and takeing big orders or nothing like a business. shes a full time student on the deans list...we dont want it to get big...most orders are just freinds and family that want one thing at a time. i just want to be able to get logos...like from www.brandsoftheworld.com and instead of using them for vinyl, use it for embriodery...yall know any website like that one that we can it done simple like it is for vinyl??? if i can get a program to transfer the regular logos like eps for vinyl, to something to be embrioderd...even if i have to redraw it myself..which im sure i could handle once i play around with it.., i been designing for 3.5 years now and i couldnt see paying someone else to do it.

im talking about simple stuff such as chevy logos for head rest and if i wanted to convert my "snappy" logo and embrioder it.

I have a friend who does embroidery plotted by computer. I will check to see how to use my EPS files to do it. Digitizing just makes you manually pick the plot points. Flexi and all software use those vectors to have a path to follow. a to b. c to d. It is always the same if your cutting, drawing, routing or etching. Sewing has to be. Its following a path.

I don't have that software, so I can't help you there.
Email my friend at cfdigitizing, I know he can do it, or he may have the file already...

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
