Mobile Tinters

This question is for all of those who are mobile tinters... What do you do about contamination since you have to tint outdoors? how do you reduce contamination... what are your tips?... I have been practicing on a couple of cars and every time im done i notice little fibers stuck on the edges of the windows... i have done and redone them and they still look like crap... do you ever ask to use a custys garage???

I bet garage won't help you.

I always ask to use the garage...thats what a garage is for...anything to keep me and my install out of the elements. I know some tinters who work outside and do quality work. But they move very fast.

all your side peeling should be done inside the car ,and californa roll the back
also a little tip wipe the top edge of the window with a paper towel it help's
i have alot of respect for moblie tinter that job's are clean
there is one in my area and he is badass ,but he charge's almost as much as me using lulu!

hell yea they better make some room for me in there garage and have some beer to

i dont get how they do it every so often i have 2 tint a semi or big azz truck outside but the slightest bit of wind and thats it i flipp the hell out i always tell em they r not gonna be my best job

windy day's suck. tinted a front end loader at a land fill and lost 2 pieces. not happy losing film. 10$ sq. ft. not bad. but out side work enviroment's any thing go's.

thats what im sayin but like even a slight breeze is a pain in the ass and i have alot of loyal cutomers that always buy big azz trucks and semis the shop i used 2 work at have like 20 ft bays that was nice

my dad has a kenworth and i've tinted the windsheald a dozon times in the past 4years, 45% full glass, 4" upper brows and 8" lower brows. thank god that he saved me 1 of the cracked windshealds for a templet works great and no climbing on the rig. cut the film and jump in. geter done

Word! Doing jobs outside is always risky, but that doesn't mean a good job can't be achieved. Its just harder. Im not a mobile tinter, and I have a shop, but I have seen some pretty good work from a car tinted outside.

I did mobile for about 15 years for dealerships. Did a lot of freebies with service managers to use the empty stalls. I also learned to work very discreet to where two GM's let me tint all cars on showroom. It was kind of entertainment and advertisement for the service customers waiting around. Keep cards in front pocket, you will pass them out fast!

I always tell the customer that you must have a clean garage with a power supply. I've modified that now by adding, a clean garage that the car fits in AND your able to open the doors, on both sides, fully. I did that cause I'd get to their home and find the garage used as a junk shop, extra bedroom or storage locker! Or they want it done in their windy carport! I tell them, if you want bubbles then yeah, I can do it there. They'll usually find a friend, relative, neighbor who'll lend me the garage for a couple hours. Or, when their a referral from a dealer, I'll do it there. I have 2 dealerships that let me use one of their service bays to tint anything, anytime. Sometime I'll spring for lunch for the service manager and advisor. The big benefit is tinting the service managers demo or personal car and I get free oil changes for my Evo. And that don't come cheap because of the need for Mobile 1! Never paid for an oil change yet!
