installed a alarm/remote start combo cs2011 superrage on my astro cargo. Everythings working great but now im getting a little feedback & im not sure where its coming from (sl bypass module?) it sounds like its coming from the speakers but I hear it even if the radio is off & more importantly my tow/haul light is stuck on ? And I can tell its on by how its shifting gears when driving. My only guess is that I tripped a relay somehow, I give up. Any thoughts ?

Sounds like you didn't hook up all the correct ignition wires. That will 'F' the computer up and cause irratic shifting and all kinds of chaos...

It's been a while but I believe there are multiple pink wires you need to hit with ignition.... hopefully it's not too late and you haven't damaged anything permenately...
tint_audiopros
I did tap into ignition 1 & 2 correctly. Everything is working just fine except now my tow/haul light is stuck on. Anyone else wanna share their thoughts ?
TTS
Well.... Obviously it's all wired correct because your tow haul light is on!

thanks tts & running free for your help, ill double check the ignition wires today.

so I fixed the problem with the tow/haul light...now here we are 8 months later and every other light is coming on. SECURITY light , Brake light , ABS light.......wtf is going on !? The alarm/remote start is working fine & the van is driving just fine, please help!

I don't believe i have seen the brake light on the same time as the Security, the ABS is on & has been for a month and won't go off. If the security light comes on I can turn the van off and back on and the light is gone same with the brake light. Is maybe something wrong with the factory alarm bypass module or is this something to do with the remote start wiring ?

If you havent already, try unplugging your remote start system and drive it for a while. I remember some chevy's having relay problems around that year, always keeping my cruise from working from ground problems(factory relays on firewall)

Booms2Go
I would try unplugging wires one by one...right down to taking the whole thing out.....also, don't ask TTS anything else.... spit.gif

That's a good idea.... Flaugh.gif

Whatever you do.. don't check the ABS wheel sensors.. Astro vans NEVER have problems with those.. spit.gif

Booms thinks i'm crazy because he would check the factory ground next to the e-brake mechanism first to make sure the factory ground bolt is tight.. Flaugh.gif

oh crap.. then he would think ' 2000 might be a bit too new for that trick ' ... dunno.gif

Booms2Go
TTS would say I'm nuts to take the whole thing out and see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, the install is suspect..... crazy.gif
TTS
Booms would probably reason that defective installations rarely show up suddenly after 8 months of use krazy.gif spit.gif
Booms2Go
TTS would go back and read that He had problems from day ONE!! Booms woulda figgered it out long ago..... spit.gif
TTS
Oh course once booms would have fixed the ABS wheel sensor.. he would have replaced the worn ignition swiitch which was the culprate behind the security/dash light fiasco..

That Booms is on it! lol2.gif

why dont you connect a code reader to the computer before unpluging wires and see if you get any codes .for abs and brake lights you need a advanced computer most chevy dealer have it reads all the computers in the astro van to make sure every thing is on the up and up .

if it doesn't show any thing with the factory sys you alarm installer did a bad job installing the alarm
or a aftermarket alarm by-pass module that makes the remote start work could be falty . some of the by pass modules are universal and you connect to the computer to install the right firm ware for you model car or truck

lol2.gif u all are too funny. I will first try unhooking one wire at a time. Should I start with the PL data bypass module ?

fred I did have a shop try to pull codes and they got no communication they said dunno.gif maybe it is the bypass module I'll try unhooking that pos.
