Full Version: Global HP Charcoal
Does HP Charcoal made my Global mess with the antennas in the back glass of cars? A few people have told me that it does, but I haven't had a problem with it.
IF there is a sat antenna in the rear deck then it will.....radio antennas are only going to be a problem if you are talking AM and it is one of the wire on the glass like a defroster line.....
Any HP film that uses traditional metals can cause a decrease in signal for radio frequencies.....the amount of metal and the exact type of metal will make a difference as much as it being there in general!
Just use QDP... color stable, beautiful color, less expensive, lifetime warranty. What more could you ask?

Not entirely true.Metal tint also can affect the antenna line on the B/G of key fob's.Any HP film that uses traditional metals can cause a decrease in signal for radio frequencies.....the amount of metal and the exact type of metal will make a difference as much as it being there in general! I have never thought about them being there and can't really imagine it either. Got any specific vehicles that you speak of? good to know
yeah every bmw upgrades because we tell them bought the keyless. for some strange reason it only decreases the signal on hot days. no joke.

I just went to thetintcenter.com and there isn't a site. If your scratching the film either your squeegee is chipped or dirty or there is dirt on the film when you squeege it. Got any pics?
il be uploading the pics tomorow
The only thing that can really make it scratch is a bad squeegee, or using the wrong type of squeegee. you can't use a "hard card" which is plastic, it must have a rubber edge in order to be used directly on the film
or really bad film.... I got a 36x100' roll for something less than --$ from ebay, just so I could offer the $-- special to people who would have nothing else....
I could not install it for the life of me, it would scratch the instant I took my orange crush to it... even my yellow turbo would cause scratching... just my experience
