Full Version: port your landline ..save some $$$
This advice isn't for everyone..only you will know if your the type of tinter that would benefit. For years I've had my land-line business phone call forwarded to my cell number most of the time and every month I get a bill for both. no more. I was able to take my business land line and convert it to my mobile number ..no more call forwarding now. I just got a plan which is unlimited incoming calls (great for a business) and in total, my cell phone bill won't be much more than it was B4 , but now I don't have the cost of a land line I never needed other than the fact it's always had my business number. I can still be in the yellow pages and for $3 a month , I still stay listed in the white pages
Thats a good idea. Is this called a virtual number? Or enhanced call forwarding?
I just dropped my dedicated fax line. Just telling my contacts that im going green! Everything internet here now! I'd love to port my ATT business landline in California to my Verizon Cellphone, but no one seems to know how I can do this, or even if it is possible. If you could provide any info, I would greatly appreciate it. I can be directly reached at landline.15.drg (at) xoxy (dot) net. Thanks for the help. Verizon can do this if they want to put the effort out. I think you would have to get another phone though as I am unsure if there is dual nam phones still out there. It takes some patience and fortitude to get them to do it but it can be done. Good luck
It 's a bit od a haassle but it CAN be done....and I'm LOVIN' IT ! I can't say how it will go for you in the US but it should be fine as tratitionally Canada it a bit behind the times compared to the US withb technology. ..but as I type this, I'm sitting in a restaurant with my old landline phone number on my hip pocket and replying back to interensted customers via wireless email with the difference of $$$ I saved from not having the landline..true freedome from the shop when needed
I have been told several time by wireless companies and VOIP companies that when you port your landline to them that you get dropped from the phone books.... I would be VERY specific with someone in the 'know' before just porting off of a landline...

I would be a fool if I hadn't of already thought of that with how long I've been in business..I still pay for a yellow page add and for $3 a month , I'm still listed in the white pages
More power to ya
