NYC Apt Needs Security Film. Where and what to buy?

I just moved to not so great part of NYC and have a deck accessible by jumping from other roofs. I want to install CLEAR security film on the sliding glass door and one window. The object is to stall (if not stop) someone who is thinking of throwing a brick thru and making a fast grab.

I want to self-install (and kind of have to since job is so small, it doesn't seem profitable for installers to come out).

Are their specific brands to buy or avoid? 4 mil sound right? Where online (or in NYC) can I get the product I need. (Lots of online dealers dont seem to say what brands they are selling and I fear they may be inferior).

Gracie- 4mil film is better than nothing but you would be better served with 8mil clear for what you are trying to prevent. Also, since your window is most likely Tempered glass, you will need a frame attachment along with the 8mil security film otherwise it won't do a bit of good. There are a few members around here from NY, Artoftint is a good guy...

Install laser trip mines and video surveillance
or make sure the other roof is secure.
