Full Version: My ABS sign ON

Hello

Can anyone help me with this one? My car is fine and okay. But when i drive, service light in dashboard always on.

Because i afraid it will affect to my car or system will error.

Can a system be reset? To see if it is just the computer now updating?

Thanks
Jarrett
If your check engine light is on then you probably do have a problem with your car/engine. They are designed to come on even while the car is running so you wont wind up stranded when something major happens (provided you get the problem fixed early). Even if your car runs fine it can still have a serious problem. I dont see where you live, but if you live in the U.S.A. autozone can connect an OBDII (On Board Diagnostic 2) scanner to your vehicle and tell you what your DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) is saying. That is only if your car is 1996 or newer though. What you asked is a little vague. Based upon the way you have worded your question... I think that you should definately take your vehicle to a mechanic before you find yourself walking. twocents.gif
Oh, on another note. A service engine light is not always the same as a check engine light (on some cars). I'm not to familiar with buicks, but it may possibly mean that you just need to perform some scheduled maintenance.
Either way, a descent mechanic is your best bet.

Your header for the thread said ABS sign and your message says service light. I'm not saying tinters can't help you but a service tech at a dealer for that vehicle of yours would probably be able to help you figure out what the pretty lights mean.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
