is it illegal to put flyers on cars or mailboxes?

im a newbie so please dont rip me a new one. so just like the title... is it !llegal?

Mailboxes yes it is !llegal (Federal) unless you put postage on it and drop it in a mailbox to be delivered.

not on my car or mail box ,sorry just ceck your local city laws and codes. use the internet.to find them out.not a good idea to put on cars they seem to turn into litter.

You can put it on the box just not in it if it don't have a stamp.
And people who put them on my truck, that just pisses me off. I don't like people touching my stuff really

What shop are you at?

Mail box = federal offense

leaving flyers etc on homes or autos = littering fines per each flyer left!

its only legal if you:
A. mail each individual letter (with postage)
or
B. Pay each city for a permit to leave flyers

I have never heard of any other options

I personally do not care for anyone who leaves trash attached to my home or car.

Whenever I go out to eat, get gas, etc if I see a nice car with no film (and cant find the owner) I place a buisness card under the gasket on the outside of the driver door by the handle. Ususally put a little note "Nice ride, just needs tint!". I have found that to be a 6 out of 10 venture.

as far as the mailbox situation.. its !llegal to put stuff in the mailbox, not attaching it to the outside of the box with rubber bands or tape.

no it not !llegal to put flyer on mailboxes. you should do it all over you area.
let us know what happens and how much more business you get.

here in florida i hand out flyers i lay them under the windshield wiper and then only time i dont is when the shoping center or business has a sign on the bulding no solicitation of business been doing it for years no problems

i leave fliers at the dealerships and used car lots

wow if that was the case on flyers California would not be broke.

i dont know where your from but in florida we can put flyers under the flag on mail box i dont it for years not inside even had a usps employee delivering mail tell me it's ok . and you can put flyers anywhere unless posted other wise .

I dont believe its illegal in the UK but Im not sure about the US
