for awail i was using windowtintfacotry.com's nr charcoal film.when i was shrinking the bg i would always.literally always end up with a crease in the film.large fingers would turn into a crease.what could cause this........
What shrink technique do you use and what film are you used to using instead of this one?

don't shrink to the wrong sides of the film.....if you try to shrink the film the wrong way you will have this effect!
actually its just this film because no other film has done this.sun gard doesnt for me.global wont.i use the bar of soap and micro fiber towell.

Well it could be the truth.
if i were stuck using some thin films like that i would get creases too.
and yes lack of skill is most likely the problem...practice makes perfect..i creased alot when i was starting.i didnt really get it down till about 2 years in.
Stick with 1.5 mil films. 1.0 mil film may seem cheaper but when you factor in scapping material from creasing it and shorter life, it's not worth messing with.
too much heat too fast back off let the film shrink for itself dont force the shrink and keep it moving back and forth dont stay in one spot to long
Just to throw a lil DMC fun in there I can handle thin films without creasing... must be cause reps are always so good at tinting we have to stop and sell or else the world would implode from our mad tinting skills yo!

I went to windowtintfactory.com and I noticed that they dont sell "feet" of tint, but rather all their products are in "feets" of tint. ya actually very upset with the company.not gonna downgrade them but i got a crappy roll and they wnt return my calls refund me or nothing....gotten nowhere in a month
from what i discovered, creasing is usually caused by overheating the finger or bubble

Sucks to get burned, folks here usually speak the truth about who handles things in the tint biz well.
if it is a large finger you need to heat it up a little then push it down some and heat some more and then while its hot lick your finger so it will slide and push in the center of the finger to dived finger into two small finger if still to big dived them again . if you heat to much to fast you will always get creases. when shrinking big fingers
learn to dry shrink you shrink the whole film not just fingers QUOTE (Limo Tint Larry @ Mar 29 2009, 11:02 AM) [*]677055[/*] Just to throw a lil DMC fun in there I can handle thin films without creasing... must be cause reps are always so good at tinting we have to stop and sell or else the world would implode from our mad tinting skills yo! after getting used to shrinking supreme, you can shrink anything QUOTE (FREDSTINTING @ Apr 28 2009, 09:07 PM) [*]683005[/*] if it is a large finger you need to heat it up a little then push it down some and heat some more and then while its hot lick your finger so it will slide and push in the center of the finger to dived finger into two small finger if still to big dived them again . if you heat to much to fast you will always get creases. when shrinking big fingers learn to dry shrink you shrink the whole film not just fingers read around here before you post. he does dry shrink

Start from the middle of glass and small strokes with the hard card. If you a greedy and try to shrink the film in a long swipe, thats when you will get your crease....gota be patient. Fingers on the edges of BG you have to work them back twards the middle of the glass. You can only shrink up and down to the direction of the factory edge. or the film your using is just
I bought tint from window tint factory and it also turns purple within a few months. This was the first tint I ever bought in bulk and I got comfortable using it , I had no idea it was so thin until I got new stuff from concord.
i only ever wet shrink on side windows on very few vehicles that need it.
all rear windows i have done have been dry shrunk. very rarely do i stuff up on these. im mire likely to stuff an unshrunk side glass. i use mr sheen spray wipe it off then use water down the outside edges. aplly the tint out side run across the horizontal from centre outwards both sides, then down vertical on the ends (H pattern) then use the heat gun up the "fingers" or "V`S" i call them to half the size or make two smaller ones. keep reapeating it unti they are too small to halve then run the heat gun along until all the edges of the tint are sitting flush to the glass. doesnt matter so much if the centre areas are still wrinkly it gets pushed out lter with the squegee. im not sure if anyone else uses this process but its what i learnt and what ive done the whole time ive been tinting QUOTE (ecrew16 @ Aug 1 2009, 05:49 AM) [*]706951[/*] I had the same problem with windowtintfactory.com's film.
