Full Version: New Solar Gard Up film
Anyone used the new darker UP films yet? How is the shrinking, look, and installation?
Saw a few VLT's on some cars yesterday. Shrinking well no ghosting issues and looks great, the 20% VLT matches factory tinted glass very well. Its only in a few select markets right now and I'm lucky its in mine! IR heat box display is amazing and such a huge selling tool. If you have shrunk our Quantum film it is similar to that in terms of shrinkability.

I have been waiting for a full [UP] line of films....I have tested the film and thank God it does not have the awefull reflective look of Metallic and many Ceramic films. I look forward to have Ultra Performance as my ultra high end line....I hope its worth the wait.

Dude, I was so nervous waiting to see the shades thinking the same thing.. please no reflective films and they delivered. It has reflectivity levels comparible to our Supreme and HP Supreme. Available in 10, 20 , 30 , 40 , 60 & 75 percent VLT's good specs very installer friendly. I'm watchin shops get top dollar without even using the IR box display, its a hit. I'm trying to get some photo's of a few cars done in the film right now, everyone I call keeps forgetting to snap a shot for me though. For the high end films this one has really covered it all and I'm so geeked I can't wait for it to be available for everyone. (Stan, order some and fast we cannot keep certain VLT's on the shelves right now) (Limo Tint Larry @ Apr 5 2009, 09:10 AM) [*]678754[/*] (lorenzotint @ Apr 5 2009, 03:41 AM) [*]678725[/*] I have been waiting for a full [UP] line of films....I have tested the film and thank God it does not have the awefull reflective look of Metallic and many Ceramic films. I had UP 50 professionally installed on my car before I started tinting. The color is great from the outside, but from the inside my windows appear slightly cloudy or milky, especially when direct sunlight hits the window at an aggressive angle. Can anyone corroborate? I always wondered if it was just the tint, or if it was caused by dirty or old slip solution. The HP Supreme 35 that I've been using appears to have much more clarity in the same light conditions.

Its well known to be a very nice film.
Bee-man, it is the film. Not sure if you are socal, or hawaii (Mountains and palmtrees in the background.. maybe I'm wrong) but UP50 was only out for testing purposes primarily last year and it does have a cloudy look to it, good clarity just under direct sunlight it almost looks like dusty glass. Either way, get a hold of some UP40 or 60 much better, UP50 never came back after that.

Any thread where its mentioned on here people always agree that it has excellent clarity, and hides dust well. Every other film I use or used(VT, ST, Global, JWF, etc) all have a slight hazy/fuzzy/distortion to them when looking closely looking out, and Supreme or HP Supreme has none of that.
Had great success with the UP 40%
dont know how to label it after Supreme (good), HP Supreme(better), Quantum(best), now UP line (? bestest?) (Paramount?) I also got the new Heat box display and the 2cd customer was sold instantly after feeling the difference. Karl is takin care of ya mang! That box does a great job, I am so pleased with the direction we are going right now with Solargard. I personally don't see too much Quantum sales these days, its a great film but most cars just can't rock it due to interference issues or not wanting a highly reflective film. Buuuut for those with a vehicle with no interference issues it is a great film to choose. For those who haven't seen yet.
