Removing adhesive from tint film

About three weeks ago, I bought a Nissan Altima and had the windows tinted at the dealership.
They (Nissan of Omaha) did an excellent tint job. I just got the plates for the car today, and now I'm wondering what's the best way to remove the adhesive left over from the in transit signs (It's stuck on pretty good) without damaging the tint in the rear window.
Thanks in advance,

depends on the adhesive used.....a good deal of adhesive on temp tags will come off with glass cleaner. I would try some glass cleaner and a credit card or something like that to "scrape" at the adhesive. Just keep it wet with the glass cleaner and you shouldn't cause any problems on the tint. If that doesn't get the adhesive off then you may try and use some lacquer thinner on a rag.....just don't leave it sit on there....
I have used thinner to remove the glue line left at the end of a roll of tint a couple times in the past....

I would have the tinter do it. They arent supposed to put any tape or adhesives on the window. You wouldnt want to mess up the film or scratch it and have them say that it was your fault. Thats an easy way to void your warranty

Might sound odd but lighter fluid ( like for a Zippo)or nail polish remover. I have used both. Lighter fluid worked the best for me.

Do you guys tell your customers to put solvents and lighter fluid on the windows? I can see it now... How do I clean the windows? I use lighter fluid or solvents. You can buy it by the gallon at lowes...

EUCALYPTUS OIL! As an Australian it's something I use all the time. I'm sure you'll be able to find it in the States. Just put a little on a cotton swab or rag and wipe it over the adhesive mark, the adhesive will rub away once the oil soaks through it. It won't damage your film and it will smell better than zippo

rubbing alcohol(nail polish remover) works good and won't damage the film. Hell, SG and 3m use it to remove their logos from the films, so it can't be that bad.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The goo's off and the tint looks great still.
From the responses, it seems like these tints are pretty tough as long as they aren't damaged mechanically (with a sharp scraper, finger nail, etc).
Thanks again,

Lars777 Pretty much. As long as the chemicals don't stay on for a long time to soak in, most stuff you'd be spraying on or around it won't hurt it. I don't think you'd be spraying brakleen or anything like that inside your car.

i use car wax and a rag. will not harm the film
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
