Horrible AM/FM radio reception after tint

My work car, a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, was just tinted. It has a rear glass radio antenna and I'm sure they must have used a tint that has some metallic elements in it since the radio reception has tunred to garbage. Is there anything I can do (other that removing/replacing the rear tint) to help rectify the problem? Is there any after market antenna I could use that would help? I found this suggestion on the site. http://www.tintdude.com/totw92.html Do they mean that I should cut all the way across the film from edge to edge? Any help you could provide would be GREATLY appreciated!

Yes, but don't try to do it yourself. Take the car back and let them know about the problem, maybe show them that page if they aren't aware of that solution and let them cut the film.
If you cut across that line on the window, it won't work anymore and it's pretty easy to cut while doing this.

FM reception shouldn't be affected by tint. just AM.

He didn't specify AM or FM so I assumed he was talking AM.

Stations I used to pick up clearly on FM I now can't hear at all. And of course my Sirius radio uses the FM as well, so now that has poor reception as well...

Oops just skimmed the title, still, I chimed in because I didn't want to see this guy try to cut along the line himself.

i garrantee that the tinter didnt plug in the antenna wire after he was done....
check inside the top of the rear glass. theres a lil botton mounted to the glass...somewhere tucked up in the headliner, theres a wire thats no attactched to anything.... plug it in... problem solved. theres no reception on both am and fm because theres no antenna
