Best way to repair tears in vinyl seat

My 2001 Jeep Wrangler stock vinyl seat bottoms have two 3" tears on the side. I would like to repair these tears. It seems that there are two ways to do this - heat or adhesive. Which is best? Also, the vinyl seat sides are backed with a fibrous cotton-like layer. What do I do with this layer and will it interfere with the repair? Thanks

Find a professional. I have dealt with two different people around here and had a burnt headliner repaired and also got a couple rips in a vinyl door top repaired. Both were $50 or less.....and unless you really were|\|4L about the things you would not have even known that they were repaired.....

Dr. Vinyl is one of the franchises that I used for the vinyl repair....Not worth trying to do it yourself IMO...

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
