Newbie....probably been talked about here before. I did an 08 Escape yesterday and was in the process of removing the Rearview mirror and POP!! nice little halfdollar size muckup right where the bracket is installed.....I didnt have the "Special" Removal tool to take it off....thought I could do it with some flatheads and a little luck....ran out of luck. So needless to say the glass dude couldnt fix so I have to replace whole windshield!! WHOHOOO!! I love tinting!

mac sells a hub cap removal tool that "works great!" I also have a piece of abs that fits great around the mirror(pic on monday and video soon)

you can use rear view mirror glue, i had a been ask to do it for a customer and works great!

my mirror tool i cut a piece of abs to fit around the mirror to help displace the tension created from the tool presure. this is the best ive used and have never broke a windshield with it.. the tool it self is found on any matco tool truck and used to remove hub caps from the wheels of a car..

I would feel bad glueing the mirror back on though dunno.gif As much as it sucks, gluing it back on would make it more succeptable to cracking in the future wouldn't it?

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
