I have black leather and black interior and in desperate need of a good tint. I would like something with good heat reduction. I don’t want metallic tint because of radio and GPS interference. Right now I am deciding between two tints. Either Johnson greystone or Madico charcool. Which one of the two gives better heat reduction? TIA

The Charcool film will prob last longer, as the film has been around longer. I am a Madico dealer and instal Charcool film. Heat rejection is not great on it b/c its a dyed film but it looks good. Oh, I looked up the TSER for Johnson...its 37 (30%) 42 (20%) and 42 (10%) They both have little heat rejection! Go with Madico!!

Thank you for the reply. That was a typo in my title. I know how to spell. I didn't know how to fix it after it was posted. What do you think about the suntek charcoal? Would you choose madico over suntek as well? TIA

Okay, my car is a 2002 Camry Solara, color lunar mist metallic, interior all black with black leather. I am leaning towards madico but I also like suntec carbon. I had Suntec before in my previous car and I liked it okay. I am looking for something with a little bit better heat reduction than the suntec. I am open to metallic tint as well, I am just worried it will interfere with my radio reception. I do listen to the radio a lot. I do use my cell phone sometimes but have it on speaker only. TIA.

metallized film would only effect AM radio reception. if you don't listen to that then nothing to worry about.

TG sucks, it will change colors on you. You can go with Madico Onyx which is a hybrid metal and you wont have any problems with reception on that car. But if you really want some real heat rejection go with Wincos 53 total solar energy at (30%) with no metal. It is distributed by Madico in the states.

Thanks guys. Sorry for all the questions, but I am still checking out different tint companies. I went to another shop in my area and checked out his tints. He carries solargard HP smoke. I really liked this film as well because it reduces 49% of heat which I really need here in LA. The more heat reduction the better. Has anybody had any experience with this particular film in regards to peeling and fading? Also, it seems to me their 20% film is quite a bit lighter than other films that are 20%. For example the 20% johnson greystone and suntek carbon are darker than the 20% solargard HP smoke. If I choose the 5% HP smoke for my back windows how is the visibility at night with this particular film? I know with other films in the 5% range night time visibility will be very bad but I am thinking if their 20% is lighter than other companies maybe their 5% is as well. Thanks guys.

If you are looking for all out heat rejection and visibility you have got to find a Huper Optik dealer. It blows away everything else and you don't have to go so dark to get it. But if Huper Optik is too much for you then you can look at Madico's Onyx which will give you a 53% heat rejection at 20% visible Light Transmission

Solargard Supreme would be more comparible to Johnson Greystone or Madico Charcool. HP Smoke has metal in it so it doesn't meet all of your requirements, although interference will vary depending on car I personally don't recommend doing it.

Prob will be a little cheaper than HO and you wont notice a difference in IR rejection.

Yeah I really like Wincos and it does have a good heat rejection, I am pretty sure it is not measured across the the whole spectrum because it claims to have a 92% IR rejection. But Huper does have a markedly higher heat rejection and we only charge slightly more for it, like literally $20. What I really like about Wincos is that it is a IR film that I can put on corvettes and beetles in one piece
