I dont think the gasket wizard ever took off. It was a good idea though. I dont use them, but I have always wanted it.
Yeah, it's not really worth the money but since you have it... Don't bother with the bungee cords, they just over complicate things. Slide in a shingle after you've cleaned the window and just use one hand pulling the gasket back when you're ready to drop the bottom of the film, sliding it from one side to the other if necessary. Also, store the pieces where they won't collect dust and still give it a good wipe before you use it.
The bungee cords work good on some cars and not so well on others. I use the wizard from time to time and they really come in handy on old crusty cars where the seal are brittle and cant be tucked. Just another tool that is good to have on stand-by kinda like a scredriver, not realy worth much.........till you need one.
It's all personal preference. I use them all the time but don't use the bungies at all. One piece of advice if you invest in them, the edges are VERY sharp. They will scratch the plastic door panals when you slide them sideways and cut your fingers kind of like a film cut. Use them, don't use them, it's all up to you.
I bought a set when they first came out and saved me lots of time on sunfire /cavalier doors (pre 95 ) those panels took forever to take apart compared to using a gasket wizard..todays panels don't need them nearly as much as many gaskets just pull out after removing a screw or two. however with that being said I used mine about 1/2 an hour ago B4 posting this
collectivelly over 15 yrs , that $125 investment has saved me many hours of unnessessary labour of panels yet tinting with the same quality as if I did remove panels on the cars I used it on and it will last forever (unlike tint Time is money To each his/her own QUOTE (drmrjon @ May 6 2009, 06:34 AM) [*]684713[/*] It's all personal preference. Most cars you can just pop the door panels back and pull the gaskets out, or the gasket pops off with the door, sometimes you'll have to take the whole door panel off, but hey makes for a clean job everytime. Doesn't take to long to do after you get the hang of it QUOTE (drmrjon @ May 6 2009, 09:34 AM) [*]684713[/*] It's all personal preference. I use them all the time but don't use the bungies at all. Use them, don't use them, it's all up to you. I have not tucked a seal in three years. Use my wizards every car i tint. If you need more space try pulling back with the bungie hook (run into that myself now and then). Just be carefull of the onions.
Why remove panals or pull back
cheers
I have started to re-use mine again and you get really clean jobs, no specks from the bottom edge.,..and dont tell me " I never get specks from the bottom edge " as thats BS.
How much did you pay?
Make directly using thin acryl.
i got mine in the uk...so i paid over the odds!

I use mine everyday and love it
I use the wizards daily. Way better than the old "tuck & stuff" of yester-year. One of the essential tools in my inventory, IMO.
