Full Version: Formula One Pinnacle

bigearz
Hi,

I have just tinted my car with F1 Pinnacle Tints or at least that is what I think i have. When I put on my sunglasses while driving some objects look purple-ish and from my understanding only dye film should give you a purple look. I am just wondering how do i really know if i have Pinnacle tints or better yet does anyone else have pinnacle tints and see purple on objects?

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
VIP tint + glass
polarized glasses will do this with any tint. does your am reception still work on your car? if it does it is most likely pinnacle
bigearz
AM reception is still good, but i heard dye film wont distort AM reception either. My lens are polarized, i'll try my regular shades tomorrow and see what happens.

Polarized usually does a rainbow effect, Formula One shops are usually considered to be on top of their game.

No warranty card with F-1? hmmmmmmm.gif

polarized glasses make everyting appear wierd... not just film...

and what can interfere with the radio reception is metalized film..... METALIZED.... that's it.. beer.gif

yes it did come with a warranty card. So i guess there is no way for an average consumer to find out if they got dye or ceramic? just sucks that I cant wear my Rayban-P anymore while driving - everything looks purple and extra glossy, its like the world is wrap in purple saran wrap...

I had one truck where it was hell with P-shades, another where it wasnt an issue at all... is this shop really that questionable that you worry they didn't give you the right film or is it only because of the color while wearing the shades you are now worried?

It's the glasses. I have the same film and polarized glasses. I just got used to it. Or wear different lenses when you drive. I have Half Jackets and can change the lenses out really easily and quicjly. Only reason I wear polarized lenses is on the water.

It was my understanding that Pinnacle is a glorified dyed film and I have heard this from the horses mouth so to speak. If some one tells you it is not a dyed film, tell them you want it in writing cause they are lying to you.

If a MFG does not advertise their film as "dye-free" then you have to assume its got some coloring agent in it, otherwise they'd be jumping all over the dye-free fact.

Are there really any true dye-free films? Isn't the dye what gives it the color, even in full metal and HP films?

I've never seen one so I wasn't sure. Then again I don't deal with high end films dunno.gif

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
