This was taken off of CP Films Quartly report

CPFilms results are summarized on slide 16. This business was impacted the most in the quarter by the global economic slow down. Net sales totaled $34 million in the quarter, down $28 million or 45% versus ‘08. Selling prices were up 2% with volumes down 45% and currency down 2%.

Wow - 45% is quite a hit. That must be international, so I wonder how much of a drop there would be just for the US.

Would also be interesting to know the % drops in auto, comm'l and resid'l. Just from talking to other dealers I think the dealers who most depend on resid'l (probably auto also - but I don't do any of that) are being hit the hardest. We're mostly comm'l - and so far it's been holding up pretty well.

The chickens have come home my friends! You can't treat your custy like crap and deny flat glass warranty claims on large scale projects for long before we all take our business elsewhere.
Oh, you didn't mention, THEY'RE FOR SALE AGAIN. Thats right kids! CP is for sale cheap cause Solutia has so much debt to service they're burning cash and want it quick! So maybe the new owners will use quality components in their film and FIRE their lousy distrubutors (particularly DUBLIN DIST.) to win back the custy but alas relationships are built on integrity so we 'll never go back!
Memo too Kent Davies.... YOU'RE FIRED!

Is that confirmed that they are for sale? I thought that they were one of the profitable divisions that Solutia had and not part of the problem. Certainly the current numbers do not help, but I had not heard anything regarding them being for sale.

That is a shame. They were never that way when I was dealing with them.

As I recall, you were associated with King George of Dublin in some fashion. An ethically questionable character with sales people like Tony "the weasel" who turned 4 of my installers into direct competitors while employed by me. But King george was not like that when I first met him 20 years ago. He lost his moral compass.

most film reps. from all manufacturers fall into this category. except for a 1 or 2 reps. who were up front. they let me know when my installers wanted to buy film. i didn't care if they wanted to open a store, i would help them out. i don't care of the back stabbing and animosity when it does happen.
the manufacturers are squeezing their balls to get .01 cent sales from the their reps.. then lose a $$$$$$ account.
manufactures don't seem to get it.

I've dealt with some good ones that told us when our employees where opening up shop trying to carry the same films... but there are a lot out there that will do otherwise.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
