I want a darker tint

I recently had a 20% tint put on my car, its looks good but I want it to be darker. Not really concerned about it being legal, but I don't want to go below 5%. Do you have any suggestions on what percent tint I should go with?

Instead of wishing for something darker since you have no desire to stay legal, I have a great suggestion. Go out and buy the darkest sunglasses you can find. Put them on your face and keep them on all day and night, never remove them.


Sure it will look stupid, but hey it will be dark.

I would not suggest putting darker than 20% on your front windows. During the day it may be fine, but at night time when your turning down a dark or low lit street you will not be able to see a whole lot with 5%.

5% is pretty dark so 15% would be your best bet. however 15% isnt THAT much darker than your current 20%. 5% is pretty hard to see out of at night.

JWF has Greystone 10 also, but I think it technically meters 7 or 8, so its basically a 5% when its on the glass.

I would stick with the 20% you have if your happy with it.

And we have ANTHER person who wants dark, then will be on here again asking how to get out of a ticket for dark tint !

generally 5% on the fronts means paintwork down the road!!!!!
