Full Version: First Quarter Way Up

Fly Paper
Had a great first quarter and now the pressure is on to deliver profits for the rest of the year. Up 20% over last year. All custom film too! Let's hear from you FG guys. How is it going out there? Looks like we may be seeing some good projects starting!

I'm busy as H-E double hockey stix doing estimates and taking calls. Same story, my comp is selling film for beer money and he does quality installs as far as I can see. Commercial is up residential is down. My closing percentage is waaaaaay down from previous years but my leads are up. Just ran the numbers.... I wish I wouldn't have. I'm down about 60% from last year but things are picking up, I had 2 large commercial jobs that are skewing the numbers about 20 percent. I'm down about 40% without the big ones I usually don't get in the middle of the winter. Just need to close'em! OUCH!

I should add, the jobs I am closing I am phone stalking people and wheeling and dealing to close the deal. People just don't want to spend the cash right now it seems. dunno.gif Then again, Michigan is getting hit pretty hard with the auto industry and manufacturing dependence.

A very good perspective but I prefer to place more importance on my professional goals and performance. Then again, I am single with no children so why shouldn't I? beer.gif Not only that, but I like to know how much Uncle Sam is going to pound me for the next quarter.

lol2.gif I don't have time for either in the summer. You all know how it goes. Make hay! 12-14 hour days are not uncommon. I don't have time for a woman and a golf game ahahahaha.

Only makes sense to keep track of where you are. It's especially important to know so you can pay your estimated taxes. Years ago when all of the sudden my growth was slowing I kept telling my banker we were headed for a reccession and he didn't believe me. I was right. A few years ago when I was refinancing my building I wanted to wait because I told him rates are going to go down further. I had to prove him wrong again. LOL My business is WAY UP this year. My April was double what a good July would be.

Busy as hell January thru April with commercial....Residential is kicking in with the help of my Window Blind Companies. Been pretty slow the last week or two ....I was out of town last week, so I expected it. Got a few estimates to do this week on a couple lake houses. Summer is just about to kick in..WoooHoooo!!!

Business is picking up again; May has been a good month. Residential customers are coming back strong. I’m getting almost every job I look at lately and at a very nice sq. ft. price. I looked at 3 houses today and they all said when can you start? They had no other bids just mine. Almost seems like old times, I hope it lasts through the summer. I hope everyone is doing the same!! beer.gif

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
