Full Version: LLUMAR'S ATC
I've been using ATC for about five mos. now and i'm digging it. I started the business with carbon but i had issues. Its cheeper than CARBON and forms about the same. I used ATR for three years and LULU has been good to me liked CARBON love ATC.

started out using atr...boss switched to atc. have no complaints, tho atr was little nicer to handle.
i do hate using that UV70 junk :/ QUOTE (4 114M4 @ May 23 2009, 10:49 PM) [*]688784[/*] started out using atr...boss switched to atc. have no complaints, tho atr was little nicer to handle. i do hate using that UV70 junk :/ Think you may have meant AU 75 ? Clear, thin windshield stuff. Try the new AIR 80 instead. Much better. Handles like ATR, is clear and good heat rejection. No flamin' today - Opus! You said it all.
yea...au75. stuff is just too thin.

Used ATR a couple weeks ago, and chuckled about how green it was. Shrinks/installs the same, and I like the color ALOT better than ATR!
I use ATR mainly but have some ATC and I like it. Especially the 5...it has a nice deep black look. We'll see how it holds up

I like it. The only issue(s) I have had - This film still is prone to "peanuts/maggots" on the rear defroster lines. Some cars are worse than others. Llumar is still more expensive than many other lines. I hate the way they "tier" the price sheet. By that I mean they charge different amounts for different VLT's. That's confusing and stupid.

That's confusing and stupid. They charge different amounts to the VLT's cause the darker the film the more "dyed or metal" compounds are used. Other distrubutors/manufacturers might have a set price for an entire line of film. They are still making money regardless. Probably more with a flat price across the board It all relative The price of film shouldnt be a deciding factor. Product A might cost $2 dollars more a window than Product B Select a product on their warranties, track record, and who you like doing business with Tint is "gold on a roll" Usually 1-2 tint jobs should be paying for the roll(s) QUOTE (F1windowtinting @ May 26 2009, 01:24 PM) [*]689229[/*] Product A might cost $2 dollars more a window than Product B Select a product on their warranties, track record, and who you like doing business with Tint is "gold on a roll" Usually 1-2 tint jobs should be paying for the roll(s) Agreed. But it would be less confusing if they all just equalized their pricing across the board.
I was using AT untill they release ATC. I really like it. I also use the ATR, ATX and AIR BLUE.
I like the ATC - it looks awesome, handles really well, I still wish the would wind it the other way round!

I noticed the "green" in ATR as well. I havn't had a shot at ATC yet, but I'll give it a try.

If you reverse roll it is really good for that, the film has lots of body. QUOTE (naughtydog @ May 31 2009, 04:18 AM) [*]690918[/*] I still wish the would wind it the other way round! Why?
does anyone else notice the grain in the darker ATC films mostly the 5%, it was real bad when it first came out......now it is better but if you look out of the 5% at night lights look blurry. I have it on the b-glass of my toyota reg. cab and when you see lights out of the back glass especially at an angle it looks blurry. You can see the grain in the film alone if you look close enough. Other than that it is a nice film but for as much as we pay for it it should be alot clearer.

About a year or two ago I noticed ATR was getting a grainy / orange peely look. I haven't used it in a while though. ATC has it but it's not too bad. I have never seen the 5%, I only use the 15 and 35.
I just received a free sample ot tha ATC will try it out.
We use the HELL out of it. Matter of fact its pretty much all we are using right now.
love how it looks afterwards. excellent film..
I just started using it and like the way it looks and shrinks.....
we had a couple come back cuz of the back window being wavy. replaced it and they have never come back

I dont notice the differance between the ATC and ATR...
I would say the ATC is more thinner, and more plyable than the ATR... Is ATC cheaper? QUOTE (Solar-Shades @ Jul 8 2009, 01:15 PM) [*]701035[/*] I dont notice the differance between the ATC and ATR... They just came out with new VLTs for ATC, check them out....ATR just looks lighter regardless. I use AIR BLUE (awesome) and ATX (PITA) as well. Anybody in MD looking for Auto work??
ATC is more expensive over there then here, that's odd. ATR 20 has a vlt of 26%, so why don't they call it 25 instead of 20?
I've only been tinting for 2 years (newbie) i know, but all i have ever used was Lumars ATC line and ATR20% cuz i guess they will never come out with it in atc but i love it, minimal problems, dont see much coming back. sturdy and handles install abuse well. GREAT FILM LINE
llumar just released atc 20 and 40. go get it! your welcome
QUOTE (VIP tint + glass @ Jul 11 2009, 12:23 PM) [*]701944[/*] llumar just released atc 20 and 40. go get it! your welcome After you told me that i called my rep and asked her why i hadnt been informed of that by now and she tells me sorry she was on vacation... i wish i would have known that before i ordered 3 rolls of atr 20 last week now i am gonna have to wait till i run out so i can buy some atc. I hate atr 20 it curls too bad so i dont try to sell it so it'll be a few weeks before i can get my hands on some. but thanks for the info.
I used ATC a few times but I it feels thin to me. I use ATR and ATX with no complaints.
Carbon all the way, install it right, looks clean, nice black hue...everyone around my neck of the woods is switching, its kinda weird...maybe they saw the cars Ive did?

I've about had enough of the ATC line. I know part of it might be me, but that film is so thin. It wrinkles if you look at it the wrong way. Even on a no-shrink glass I get these stupid little lines that look like wrinkles in the film. No clue what causes them. Less than a human hair in width and maybe 1/16 of an inch long and they won't lay down, ever, Bah.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
