HI dude am a little un clear on what you need this tool for?
If its for corner work on silocne I don't know of any sepcific pre made tool that has a 45 angle.
We did a job a few years ago bout 10000 ft of film with 995 on ever panel, 5 different frames through the building. We got a heap of old gold cards and cut then to shape for a 1/4 and 1/2 inch silocone seal.
worked a treat it will finish really well if the frames are square.
You can cut down all 4 corners of the card to fit different parts/ styles of the frames and the cards cheap to replace if you need to make new 1's.
Just dont lose a finger when you cut them down... Peace

I make mine or hire a pro caulker to do it sum charge by the foot. If you need to make yours go and get sum cheap plastic putty knifes find what size you need to go from tape to tape as this will vary from window and frame and gasket type. So once you have that cut it about ½” wider than that measurement and heat the sides up just enough so you can bend it ¼” on each side so it will fit and act like a plow as the ¼” on each side will push the excess 995 on to the tape and the corners will be the hard part as this will work just fine if you get the right amount of 995 laid down. You do not want too much extra as it will get messy and have lots of towels with to clean it off with. twocents.gif

yea, sounds good guys... I hired a guy to do, i dont know , like 1100 lf of 995, he had this 45 degree 4" putty knife that he had made... he wont give secrets out... HA! but I didnt know if there was anything actually made for this purpose as more gov't and large commercial projects seem to want it instead of the half round that Im familiar with..... I will try both your secrets, and I greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Hey Wolfe,
Albion makes spatulas and spreaders along with dispensing tools. I have used the 258-5S for several yrs. The 45 deg. angle is acheived byholding the tool at 45 deg's. to the mullions. You need to cut the blade end flat (I used a dremel) then rounding the edges and sand with fine paper so it doesn't snag the tape. GSA specs are 3/4" bead . Finished width is determined by how big your tool corners are. 1/2" x 1/2" on each mullion gives you a 3/4" bead. Taping is critical for a crisp line and smooth bead. Gotta love 995

If Albion has a minimum order price, find a glazing co. maybe CRL ,We have Smalley & Co. here that has full supply of caulk, tools etc.

The guy we had do some work for us did not even use tape when he applied the 995 he just flowed it in and if he got a little on the film he used a 1” razor blade to remove it from the film and did not leave a scratch in it. And it looked like a butter knife with a flat tip to smooth it out, to do it that way would take a person many years to achieve such skills with a caulking gun my hat is off to this guy.

Yeah , Iv'e heard of some guy doing it "freehand" and have seen jobs done without taping but as yet haven't seen any I would put my name on.
Maybe someone could post some pics of a no tape job, it might convince me to try it , but so far The end result of taping/tooling are superior in look.
Sure would save a lot of time to just gun it on.

We hired a company that just dose caulking as we had a big government job and did not have the time to do it ourselves. It looked awesome. If you call around you may find a company that has delt with this type of install that is required with the film.i will see if we have pics of that one .

we use a guy that's the best i've seen. he does it with no tape. he has an angled attachment on the end of the gun. looks like the end of the thing smooths the 995 as it comes out of the gun.
