Right...
Ive worked wtih some films, and found the film that I, myself feel at most ease with...
Which is LLumar...
Been thinking about changing, as ive been using llumar, and other brands, but just want one brand of film to use, one company to deal with, and one name and number to remember.
So....
Where do i go to?
LLumar films rocks, but customers service doesnt, and still waiting almost one year on for certain things.. not happy...
Do i go with
Bonwyke, and use the Sun Tek film...
Whats the Sun Tek brand like, Shrinkabilty, workabilty, lastabitly, Pro's and Cons of the film??? And whats type of the film do you use?
Or Berkart, recived excellent samples, and leaflets, and the overall conception of them seems so far to be excellent, helpfull friendly guys on the phone, but whats the Solar Guard brand like, Ive used Sun Guard, but not the Solar Guard.. again... Shrinkabilty, workabilty, lastabitly, Pro's and Cons of the film??? And whats type of the film do you use?
Has anyone Tried Sun Pro???
Thanks Guys...

Tom i was trained on SolarGard and thought it was a good film. Its quite thin and can crease easy if your not careful. Beakert seem ok to deal with, then they got wind that i hadnt ordered from them for a while because i had started using a different film. I was then threaten by legal action if i do not remove SolarGard logos or reference from my website. This was after i had only used there film and they were happy for me to use there logo etc!! Tossers is my thought! I now only use SunTek, Carbon is a great film to work with nice and thick shrinks very well and looks good installed. The customer care is 100% spot on. I can only speak as i find but find Bonwyke a top quality company to deal with. Make the move you will not regret it!

I use both LLumar and suntek, there are pluses and minuses to both.
Llumar...for me they are around the corner hence customer service is not an issue, I can call and collect in 20 mins. Good technical backup, big changes in last month or so, they will be upping there game as they have been streamlined, they have better pricing control as they are direct manufacturer, not overly effected by exchange rate. Large product range, massive market share, new product lines coming in next few weeks, new marketing material looks good, the scratch coat is as good as any in the biz, excellent adhesive (HPR), ...Liner on the inside, film wants to fit the glass but can be curly on pattern making and liner removal. ( The new ATC line is nice film, should be priced competitively, has really nice colour but I would like to see a few more shades. 1.5mil singly ply makes it great for reverse rolling rear windows.
Suntek...nice film, was priced really well before price hike - now not as competitive on price, they are selling more on benefits, I mainly used Carbon, looks great, never had a failure ( same for Llumar), good aggressive adhesive, I would like it a little thicker, it's wound the right way, scratch coat not as hard as llumar, ( I mentioned this and they said it may be changing), blends well through the range, shrinks as well as llumar, full range of shades to 70%,I dealt with Justin - but know he has gone I'm sure Nik can keep things going along the same. There was a distinct lack of marketing support, be prepared to push the brand for yourself a little. I cant fault Bonwyke on customer service, if they say it will be sent - it will. Nice company to deal with on all levels.
I will still run 2 brands...it helps on all levels and your eggs are not in one basket, plus for credit purposes it can make business sense.
The grass is'nt always greener so look at all your options.
ND
PS:- Have you tried the ATC film yet?
PPS, re, Has anyone Tried Sun Pro??? I know somebody who has, it was on a difficult window and he got it down fine and said it looked good...but...why would you consider a brand that nobody knows of, has no real credibility over here yet? I may be reboxed or it's own brand but i would like to know who really makes it, a bit more about the raw material construction and it aint cheap when you look at the market.

At the moment in the tint distribution world i would go for Suntek, its my main supplier at the moment. the rest are good, i dont think there is a bad film out there, but you get more than a good product with suntek, point of sale merchandise, dealer logo workwear, and business and technical support/advise from bonwyke. You get the whole package. After 20 years of tinting (old man ) using nearly every film on the market ive settled with this one.hope this helps

I have some carbon 18 at the moment that scratches for fun..I wish they would sort the scratch coat out..it scratched today with a new yellow turbo and a blue hard card wrapped in shop towel. It really doeas seam super soft....to make things worse it was a honds FRV rear screen. f**k that - i let it go with a scratch after shrinking that screen.

I have been a LLumar guy for my whole career. I have recently been working with a friend and they use Solar Gard and 3M. I have to say a few things. I have had nothing but success with LLumar. They're customer service has been awesome. I never really need them because I maybe get 1 warranty a year. From thousands of cars tinted in the past 10 years. That's pretty good in Florida. I order from a distributor 100 miles away and my film arives the next day every single time and has not been wrong once!! Having said that, I am glad I get the chance to work with other films now. It has given me something to compare. So we use all of 3Ms and SG lines. From the 1 mil crap to the Crystaline ceramic. I noticed that the CS line from 3M is complete garbage. ATC is a much much better color stable film. Both SG and 3M have pretty nice HP films though. Shrink well, nice color, etc. The Crystaline is just as good as Huper IMO. So I say check out a few companies. In Europe maybe it isn't as important to have a high quality film because it isn't a harsh climate. Each film has its pros and cons. For me Llumars pros outweigh any cons and it has a marketable name, such is 3M. I know the place I have been working can sell 3M all day just on the name.
