That depends on the law, the manu will not honor any warranty on !llegal film. In most applications, 5% is !llegal....

if you can find it:
dti 35grgrgr -one of the best films ever, i would compare it to atr and charcool for overall performance. the polyester was from a japanese co. called toray. it lasted for a long time, but dti had some delam problems. it eventaully turned purple after 5-7 years. dti became msc-solar gard and they stop buy from toray.
Be sure to get some samples of different manny's 5%. some 5's are so dark you cant see nothing but shadows looking out (ValueTint) and some are lighter and have good clarity (SunTek). i'm still searchin manny's for that perfect 5% that has good clarity, color stable, and is a nice black color on the outside.
ATC 5 has a nice deep black look, no reflectivity. It is color stable so it will hold its color for a little while but eventually fade out

I really like supreme 8 color wise, but its too light for a 5 film
i like the solardgard supreme 8% too i dont think its to lite at all its dark bro
Thanks for suggestions guys, Anybody had any luck with suntek standard 5%

The car is parked outside too. what difference u talking about ?
QUOTE (prodigy @ Jun 7 2009, 10:10 PM) [*]693232[/*] Thanks for suggestions guys, Anybody had any luck with suntek standard 5% You can't expect their least costly 5% to last. Purple - couple of years, and bubbling - after 3 years.
+1 on ATC05
QUOTE (prodigy @ Jun 8 2009, 01:06 AM) [*]693302[/*] what difference u talking about ? as in the Supreme? Supreme 8 is a 8% film, so side by side with a true 5% its noticeable lighter
I have some Moonraker 2.5% and 5% its basically black with no reflectivity at all, also agree on ATC05!
Suntek Carbon, Non reflective, easy to work with, cant go wrong.

5% NR Diamond Black from solarfree is superb.... its a damn thick film at 2 mil, color stable, and a little pricey but its worth it imo. ill post some pictures of my customer's car soon.
