Need Tint for my Mustang

Hi,

I have a 2000 Mustang GT. Right now it's a fishbowl, and in desperate need of some tint.

The law around here is 35%, so that's what it will be.

I *REQUIRE* a film that has ABSOLUTELY ZERO metallic flakes in it, as I run a Valentine One radar detector and hobbyist tests have confirmed that metallic tint reduces radar range by a LOT.

So, NO metallic films!

My local choices (as far as non-metallic goes) seem to be:

SolarGard HP Supreme or Llumar Axcess ATX series.

The llumar guy would have to special order it, while the SolarGard guy charges less and keeps that film on hand.

I trolled on this forum for nearly a day before registering and posting, and it seems like installer familiarity (with their film) seems to play a role in quality of install.

Should I go with the SolarGard guy, or should I get Axcess?

I'm leaning toward SolarGard just because he keeps it on hand, and seemed much nicer than the Axcess guy...

Price is 175 for Solar Gard
200 for Axcess

Thoughts? Is one film superior to the other?

LLumar ATC is not a metalic fim, the LLumar dealer can install it at a much cheaper price than the ATX and you will have no issues with radio interference..... twocents.gif

Solargard HP Supreme stands for High Performance AKA has metal in it. No metal flakes, but then again no one puts metal flakes in window film..

NR Supreme, or Ultra Performance would be your solargard choices. UP being comprable to ATX by Llumar.

NR supreme. Although HP supreme you woundt have issues with your radar at all. icon_mrgreen.gif

I'm from Georgia, Atlanta/Athens area. Also in Columbus a bit.

I appreciate the replies guys, but I'm still not sure which brand to go with.

I was really hoping to get some guidance from the community as far as the pros and cons of each brand, if any.

bingo.gif find an installer that glues/paints/vinyls the dots, and it'll look a LOT better on that car.

and has been stated before, HP supreme is a hybrid film. NR Supreme is a very nice film, and I carry it as one of my lines. I love how it installs(other than being a tad thin) and it has clarity that is second to none. Its also an extremely black looking film, meaning no greys/silvery look on the outside.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
