proper cleaning techniques

You didn't say if these dots are always in the same place or not.
If they are always in the same place then there is a good chance that weld spatter has melted into the glass.
If its random there may be contaminates in your water. Try a fuel filter in your hose on your sprayer
Regarding sprayers: When your sprayer is brand new there is a bunch of grease in the piston. Over time it will break down due to the different soaps we use for slip.
My solution to this is to clean out all that grease when the sprayer is new and use a spray like Jig a Loo instead. It still needs maintenance occasionally to maintain easy pumping. One can the Jig lasts years. My oldest sprayer has seen daily use for about 5 years. Dang I should have put this in as a Tip of the Week.

microfiber towels, save $$$
QUOTE
I read on here a while back about using microfiber towels for cleaning, and I have always used bountys for everything. Lately I have been using the microfiber towels for cleaning the outside and inside of the glass, I can tell a major difference on what I was spending on bountys compared to now. I use one bounty towel per window for the final wipe around the edges before I put the film to the glass. Every afternoon when I finish for the day I scrub the towels with soap and water and hang them up for the next day.
