I just thought of it and wanting ways to increase business.. it is so slow.. do you know if you could by a cd with all the street addresses in your city. Was thinking of do a mailing in the neighbor hood of the last residential jobs i did . Maybe using the last job as a referral . I was checking out stamps.com. You can print out the stamp and mailing sddress on one sticker .
Personally I see post cards as junk mail and toss without even reading them.
Try the Value-Pak thing...It costs like $300 or so for each area.

I have tried post card over and over again in the last 19yrs in business and it is a waist of money. try penny saver or local news paper. much cheaper.

I've gone that route before, it seemed to generate some calls, in my area the franchise tinters are already in them..... What about those annoying little roadside signs?? Anyone tried those??
i think anyone knows the question whats your best price for tinting my car!!!!
and i have allways a good good answer if you got a new car to tint, ican make you an offer... what about getting your car tinted and dont have to pay for the bg tint. the custys allways replys "yeah great idea" then i say : only if i can put a promotion sticker on it. Deal !!!!!!!!!!!! works great for me on brandnew cars. I think like any type of advertising, YMMV. I've used post cards before, although haven't sent any out this season... and I've gotten calls from them. (flat-glass) One area I did - maybe 200 cards went out. Got two jobs.. over $3k between both... post cards cost maybe $175 total... A friend of mine does mostly auto and puts up those roadside signs on telephone poles, etc. and he gets calls from them all the time. I don't know how many turn into jobs... but it's worth it for him. No magic bullet in advertising unfortunately. :( I wish there were.....
I do bandit signs and postcards. I do a mailout every week. We bought the addresses from infousa.com and printed the labels with our printer. Our distributor helped with the design of our postcards (which saved money compared to going to a place like Kinkos), and had them printed. We purchased 5000 postcards (front and back) for something like $800. Maybe less, I dont remember. Using infoUSA for the addresses we want to target is really cheap. The last purchase was 508 address for households that make $250k+ and it was $78. It costs $133 a week to send out the 508 postcards...a little more when we send out more of course. No one can expect a flood of calls when sending out the postcards. We recently started our campaign and have recieved just one call (3 weeks in so far).
Bandit signs work great, and the postcards will as well as long as we keep flooding our target areas. When you do your own advertising, it will be cheaper than putting an ad in a community magazine(s). We did that route for a little more than a year with ONLY 1 call!! Have to try some differnt things and see what happens.. ___Tint51
I did 400 door hangers and then had the local boy scouts go out for $100 donation and distribute them all in an afternoon. I probably got 10-20 jobs out of the 500 bucks I spent on advertising, but I got my name out there in areas I was having a problem with and they obviously paid for themselves. This was about 2 months ago and I was pretty pleased with my results.
we do the valu-pak mailers about every month. 3x5 size cards. residential work is the target. it's a $50 off deal if any customer has over 100 sq.ft. we get a ton of work from these mailers. keeps us busy enough with flat glass that we really don't have to focus much on cars.
