Full Version: How to quote jobs?
I need a good way of quoting these jobs. How do you guys do it?
You probably need to be a TAD more specific there Nitro......
Auto or residential, first of all........
starting off auto, but i would like to do residential and commercial also
I would say step one... call your competitors and get prices from them to get a idea of what the market is expecting...
Step two....determine HONESTLY if You are as good as Your competition or better...then price up or down accordingly.
Yeah, but I can't call like everytime I am going to do a car or truck and ask them what they would charge! I got a bad ass hillbilly accent, it's not like they would'nt know it was me everytime!! LOL!!!
the good thing is, I think i am ok on the need for this in my area because I am about 35 to 40 minutes south of cincy in northern ky. There is nothing like this around me. I am actually planted right in between cincy and lexington ky
Do you know glass? Can you identify tempered. float, low-e and all the other technologies? If not, don't get into flat unless you want to learn glass

If not, don't get into flat unless you want to learn glass thats one reason i play it safe, and usually recommend a 30 or 40 standard film, or a 50 ceramic. Safe more almost every type of glass, especially in our mild climate. it helps to have done a lot of cars to price them ,because there are a lot of them that I charge more now that I've done one, since their not as easy as they look(older escapes, thunderbirds, classic cars) for bidding res/comm, basically measure sq/ft and price that. Figure out what you need to get the job done. Like I have a $60 scaffold fee(costs me $22/day to rent it), $350 small scissor lift and $600 large scissor lift fee, etc. You learn fast what you need to do the job correctly. practice, practice, pratice QUOTE (scottydosnntkno @ Jul 6 2009, 11:10 PM) [*]700566[/*] QUOTE (Tinitman @ Jul 6 2009, 07:14 PM) [*]700534[/*] Do you know glass?
