I've been looking for one local, think it's an alright price? Also is it a good piece of equipment for film cutting?
have you got a link to it or some info?

Looks like it will work well if you use 'Invisible Patterns'
doh
http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/bfs/1250704068.html as a bonus, it would be cool to get back in to t-shirt making and stickering up the company van.
Sounds like a good deal.....if you could get it for 1800 - 2000 that would be even better.

thats the exact plotter i have. i got it through tint tek when i ordered my program/plotter combo. its a great machine. i did have to change out my mother board on it. the tech says that they have had some issues with it in the past. the machine came from signwarehouse and all service had to be done there for warranty. make sure u get the box it came in just incase you need to send it in for anything, they wont accept it unless its in the box that it comes in. but you can purchase a box from them for only $180 !!! i had to since i threw my box away like a dumb ass. basically u just need to know that machines like that do break and have problems, so without a warranty, your out of luck when it comes to getting a $600 piece replaced on it.
go to http://signwarehouse.com/specials/Q100_packages.html and you can see what it really retails for. alot of times you can get it alot cheaper than that when they go on sale. i seen them as low as $2,500 brand new. i would call signwarehouse and talk to someone in sales and see what they can offer you for just a plotter. it would be brand new with the warranty.
before posting the link here, I had shot him an offer for $1750 cash and I would make the 40 minute drive to him to get it. His location is a little small and doesn't have a lot going on business wise, so maybe he will take the offer or counter me something good.
well that would be a sweet deal.
signwarehouse sells that plotter and software. make sure he gives you the dongle key(looks like a USB flash drive) software useless without it. Sounds like a fair deal.
GRAPHTEC sounds good, usually no issues with them.
Good quality, quick cutting. At test cutting try to crate and cut few long curved elements connected at he end - something like eye, but with more lines (cutter should to drive material forward and back and start/end them in one point). Also cut few small squares and check if they are not distorted at corners and when You remove them from material the weed prroperly.
that is the one i have as well....have never had a problem with it as of yet...going on a year and a half..got mine off ebay for 2100..but it came with a crap load of software and about 8 months of tint tek that i could use....so if you can get yours for what you offered...it should be a good deal.
Dude, I bought a whole system from signwarehouse and it came in this past weekend. I got the Q42 along with all the tint software. I used to tint windows about seven or eight years ago by hand. I tinted a 99 ford pickup yesterday using tint tek. OMG!!! I spent about 4000 for everything through signwarehouse. It is defintily worth it!!!!!!!!! Why buy that one? Go through them and buy a brand new one!!!
yeah if you get it for what you offered then you've gotten yourself a great deal. i've got a graphtec and love it.
