Full Version: Scrapers and blades

Just wondering what inch blades and what blade holder some of you are using for auto and/or flat glass. I'm also wondering if stainless steel blades can be sharpened and reused??? Not the shorter ones, but the 3 inch and up.

Autos 1” no holder and as far as flat glass 4”scraper I do not care for the 6”ones that are made of plastic as the blades are to flimsy and get nicked to easy but they are good to use for R&R just to remove the adhesive. Plus I am old school and stared with a 4” hard to teach an old dog new things. twocents.gif

Lowes has these that I have been using. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=prod...&lpage=none They are rubber coated and have a cap that does not pop off in your pouch. They are in the paint section, in a big cardboard barrel. Also have a triumph 3" and 6" but dont seem as sharp as the 1" carbon blades.

For flat glass 6" blade, solid plastic handel all the way man. The blades chop pretty quickly but their 2 sided stainless so in most situations they won't scratch the glass. You get a nice wide pass with each action so its pretty quick to clean most flat glass. I don't know any1 who re sharpens blades. I pay less than 50c a blade so have never thought to re sharpen them. If you looked around you might find some1 who does...

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
