mates
hey guys , the old marketing topics have all been done over and over again. but i just want some input from shop owners and mobile tinters !

im currently running my tint business as a mobile business , i do have the option of people bringing their car to my house but its less than ideal i cant fit 4 wheel drives or vans in my garage.

basically im getting very few calls , like 2 per week and this is my marketting vie done so far

*placed business cards at a large auto shop - had maybe 4 calls from there
*placed business cards at my mechanics workshop - maybe 3 calls from there
*placed business cards at another auto shop - 1 call
*yellow pages ad online (2 -3 weeks tis been active ) - 0 calls
*placed an ad on gumtree.com.au (our version of craigslist i guess) - 2 calls
*placed an add on truelocal.com.au (like yellow apges but a more local focusses internet directory) - 0 calls
*wordof mouth - 2 calls

i also give any customers a few extra business cards and if they own any auto business il give them a bunch of cards.

iplan to sign write my work vehicle soon which should help

but yeh i really am struggling to get work , it is winter in australia but at the same time established shops are sort of still doing 4 cars a day

now note im not a fast enough tinter to do dealership work at this stage (id hate to do it then not be able to do all the cars then get the boot then go back when i am faster and they are like your the guy who couldnt tint 6 cars a day)

now as much as mobile is excellent cause of the low costs, i would love to open a workshop.

ive actually had a look at a few with real estate , 1 is perfect it has main road signage large signage at that and is easily big enough. do you guys think that having a workshop with signage on a main road with thousands of cars passing daily would at least secure say 3 jobs per week ?

thanks guys , reallly stuggling at the moment and i want tog et ahead and hoping some of you successful shop and busienss owners alike can help me on my way ;) !!

Try putting on a Yahoo ad.. I do it for free.. I have a 70% call from them..
MobileTintInc
If your mobile, go to body shops, detail shops, stereo shops, etc.. Have them offer window tinting to thier customers at 25% more than you need to charge. They sell the work and get paid for the time youre in thier garage. Make sure you tell them that youll handle all the customer service and leave cards in every car you do.

Free marketing and you get their whole customer base.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
