anyone have a problem with audi a5 amp

one of my guys did a a5 on sat the customer states there is no sound now he brought it to the dealer and they said the tinter blew out the amp.....amp is in the quater panel dealer said $1700 to fix

well its the same song with the bmw's. wrap it up.

i did 3 no issues my other guy did 2 no prior problems ??????

We have covered this problem. You need to wrap those bitches up. Well on the S5 anyway. Not sure on the A5. Tinters having been killing those things and yeah they are not cheap

i fried the bmw amp which is in the rear 1/4 panel also. all the higher end cars that come in, i always check in the trunk just to make sure b4 i start slappin.

$1700 for a car amp. That must be damn good amp.

I did the same thing, you have to wrap it up. I got the audi dealer to knock it down to 1200 though....

Just found out they also have a water sensor in the doors, should that get too wet, the window will drop and shatter...Thats a $700 part

What if they have the window down and it rains or something, just doesn't sound right....

yep,i do manny at the audi dealer,i wrap the amp in the trunk.thats the only one i know bout.should have ripped the tint off let dry for couple days then bring car to dealer.payin for it or put thru insurance?

Apparently it's a safety thing, you drive into a lake or something the windows drop and let you get out...

Sorry to hear of your misery Joe but that %&$# is old news. You cant be soaking down that rear window (5 gallon sprayer i bet). put a towel over the amp and when your done see if it gets wet. I use a hand sprayer and there isnt a drop of water on the towel when im done, some guys see a wet towel afterwards.

tip #2 i had a guy cover the amp but there must have still been water puddled up on the metal under the rear deck. first time the guy stepped on the gas the water poured right in the amp.

Audi put out a bulletin on this issue back in Oct No warranty on water damaged amps!
