Full Version: Global Issue

I've got a roll of QDP that seems to like to separate quite easily from the liner when you're nearing the end of shrinking a BG. I'm only having this issue with one roll of the stuff, so it's not my fault Flaugh.gif I seem to remember way back somebody said this happened to them? Is it a bad batch/old QDP or something? Is it returnable? Haven't had time to call my dist and figured somebody might know something about it... Not a huge deal since I always cut it plenty long while shrinking, but none the less...
OCC

Never seen that but forest gump said it first "it happens". Should be able to return it or exchange. I was able to meet the Canadian distributors at last years SEMA and they were good people. I use more heat on Global dunno.gif
Cheers dude

I really don't think it's me using too much heat dunno.gif It happened again at the bottom of a new Focus sedan the other day. There's hardly any shrink to that. But my other rolls haven't done it on anything. It's not exactly like I've seen when using too much, just the way it lets go from the film. It's not a big deal, only seems to do it at the factory edge. Just weird, haven't had it happen before. Film seems fine otherwise dunno.gif Like I said, I always leave it long so it doesn't affect anything anyway.
micro-edge
I ordered 3 rolls one time before a couple years ago and all 3 rolls would do this, once you shrank to a certain point the liner would start releasing from the film. Global rep said it sounded like the film and liner were shrinking at a different rate making it release, thus a bad roll dunno.gif

That happened to me on the sample roll I had them send....

When I asked about it I got the ' Well.... so far you are the only one to say anything ' lol2.gif

whatever

Flaugh.gif classic response.

I'm suspecting it's a roll of old QDP for starters dunno.gif My other boxes have the new labels wrapped around the end that say like "10% more film for free" and have the "Super Shrink" and "Anti Static" or whatever logos on it and all that. The boxes with the issues don't... dunno.gif It's not a huge problem like I said, but both my cousin and I noticed it on our own, and he's no newbie to it. Oh well, just thought it was a curious thing, haven't seen it do that before with any film. I know what it does when you over heat it at the end, and this isn't like that. Let's go in a different way.

I have noticed it seperate in a couple of tiny spots lately when I am shrinking it, but it doesn't effect the look of the film at all, so no worries. I don't think those are old rolls...i think it is the new ones...there is something different to the film when I am shrinking it, but no real problems. Next time I am talking to Denis, I will be checking on it. dunno.gif

it happens some times not often but it really hasnt affected the final product. no visible distortion. I though it could have been a small amount of air between the film and liner that expands, or there is too much grease behind the liner

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
