Full Version: Heat Shrinking Paneled Windows
Hey everyone, just had a question about heat shrinking windows that roll up with panels. I can heat shrink back windows fine. Know the basics...fingers up vertical and to the factory cut, etc. I usually wet shrink. How about heat shrinking the front and side windows etc? Ive had some trouble with Jeeps in the past. Is it just the same? How do you keep the film protected from the bottom panel when you shrink? I just tint on the side for my friends and such. Anyway, help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Place the film on the outside of the door, about an inch higher that the lower rubber gasket. Force all the fingers to the bottom and shrink them.
after you wet shrink the window you can pull up the bottom half of the pattern and dry shrink it and that will ensure you wont get any fingers.
Alright, nice. Thanks guys. The pulling up about an inch above the gasket sounds easy and promising and makes sense. Thank you

spray the glass lay the tint as vip tint says run your card along the top edge first then down each side being careful not to crease, no problem with the right solution. you should then see the "fingers" or "vees", heat the biggest ones until they go squigglly should be quick then run your card down them, repeat until the the tint matches the glass. mind you THAT is wet shrinking and i found dry shrinking doesnt have to be anywhere near as smooth especially on rear screens
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
