Insurance Building Glass

Hey guys, I recently got into tinting pretty much full time. I have tinted windows in autos for quite some time now, but now I wanted to expand and get into residential and commercial tinting. I have done a couple of flat glass jobs for some friends, but now I am getting ready to do my first flat glass job to make money on an insurance building. I like Solar Guard window tint and that is what I am using on his windows. It's gonna be $$$ for a whole role. I own the business, so how do I figure the job. There is only 40 sq. ft. of windows here.

As per board rules we DO NOT put film prices in public thumb.gif have a nice day

per square foot. everyone has different prices. 40 square ft x price = total.

This job's profit would barely cover the cost of the full roll material. If it's a film that I will sell / use on future jobs, then I purchase a full roll. Otherwise, I ask to purchase a partial roll.

Partial roll on that one unless you are going to be selling a lot of that film....if you are just starting or going to be doing more smaller jobs that large ones then check out Johnson Window Film's Pre-cut program....buy the pieces you need, at better size widths than just the standard roll sizes and cut to the length you want, rolled up, marked, and ready to drop roll/snap or whatever you want to call it...

Now on the pricing thing, always figure out what you want to be charging per square foot, but figure a minimum per window charge as well. I charge so much per square foot, but if it gets less than about 5 square foot on a window then the price on that glass doesn't go lower. You will spend just about as much time tinting a 1' x 1' or 2' x 2' or 5' x 5' window.....all about the same time frame to tint...so remember that one...

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
