Buy the real thing.. cheap tint will not give u the skill.. just don't go real cheap.. Call tint suppliers to try out their tint with sample rolls. I will be practicing by cutting it and applying it repeatedly. Wouldn't it be a waste of money to practice with expensive tints? i know good tints give u better quality but its not like imma leave it on forever right?
No not a waste of money. You want to learn the right way then you need to use the real product. cheap tint is just that cheap and will not shrink right and will not lay right so you will be learning the wrong way.
Man up buy a roll of llumar for $300 .
Johnsons is a great film to practice with ,not all that exspensive and still decent film
I started out using tint I bought off of ebay, then I bought some from concord and I had trouble. It was like starting all over again.
i learned on walmart tint and when i started using sunguard it was a hole different story, for back windows at least. side windows arnt to bad but unless you have been tinting for a while you will not learn to do a back window with cheap film. heres some cheap ebay stuff to practice side windows with http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DNF-WINDOW-...sQ5fAccessories
like i said, i would not even attempt a back widow with this stuff unless your planing on 5 piecing the back window. The only tint I have used is window tint factory from ebay, and now the stuff I use is concord film. I just thought that all of tint got a dirt in it easily. Everything I've used does that bad.
Where are you from.....
So I decide to take your guys advice and practice with high end tint products. I called couple major tint manufacturers ( suntek, madico, johnson) and they require that I have to get a business liscence in order buy their films. Is there anyway I can buy high quality tint to practice with without a business licence?
Probably not, your best bet is really get some hands on training. Maybe a local shop need someone to sweep up or something, show them you're motivated and want to learn...Or check out some videos or classes. Stan, here on TD has a really good training course...
