so i'm in a sunroom this a.m. getting ready to tint and i plug the hose into my tank. about 2 seconds later the hose ruptured, sending a thick jet of soapy water shooting about 30 feet across the room, on the couch, on the wall and entertainment center. finally got the hose outside(which is still pressurized even after unplugging it) and the hole was like 1/4 inch long. wtf? so i did the sunroom with a trigger sprayer and a pos ace hardware sprayer. blink.gif

Sorry to hear of your "luck".
Shutting the barn door after the horses have left would be to put a pressure relief valve on your Corny.

I use sprayers such as this one with that all important feature of a relief valve.

I modded mine with a 12 foot braided poly hose.
I use the 1 gallon version daily as it fits in most kitchen sinks. I have a 3 gallon backup sprayer for the bigger jobs.
I find Chapins toys very durable. My one gallon is at least 5 years old.
On a side note are you the proud owner of shorted out electronics?

nothing got screwed up, thank God. this whole mess happened in the span of about 20 seconds, Flaugh.gif . my tank has a pressure relief valve, but the hose remains pressurized no matter what(unless you disassemble the chapin nozzle). seriously, by the time i saw what was happening that sh!t was across the room hitting the wall.

Always .........always check your hose clamps. Make sure thier tight. When filling your tank...dont put too much pressure in the hose.....thats the key.

When the hose jumps .......yer good.

My kids loved the awesome fountain feature I made with an old length of hose pinched off and a few choice cuts in it. Pump er up and watch the show on a nice hot summer day. Its a portable sprinkler setup. I also had an idea to put a mister on the end of the hose to my 3 gal and put it near my lawn chair while watching the kids run around.

I think his hose was cut during transit or something

The hose popped off mine a few years back while I was on top of my giant. It was the second window I tinted, and I lost every drop of water. That hose was slappin everywhere behind 120psi...all over the walls and wood floor on a brand new house. I used an entire box of bountys to saok it all up. It was a bad day.

That is messed up! Could have been worse I guess though. Flaugh.gif

something similar happened to me earlier this spring. we use inline filters on our tanks. i was trying out a new plastic type. bad move...the plastic one didn't hold up to the pressure. the filter exploded sending enough water shooting everywhere to flood a customer's entire kitchen and dining room before we could get to it to pop the line off the tank and stop it. Fbigeyes.gif we spent 30 minutes cleaning instead of tinting. the customer was fine with it....but man, that was embarassing as hell. grinning_in_embarrasment.gif she didn't figure on getting a deep cleaning from us as well as a tintjob. spit.gif

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
