You dont need to buy a good quality tint up there. You dont get enough heat for film to go bad. You get about 2 months of +25C heat . I can send you the pics of the failed film around here from company's like you and your buddy if you would like. Edit: Now, mind you, we may not need a tint that rejects as much heat as those who tint in the south, and it may not have to hold up under the extreme heat. BUT it does have to hold up under extreme temperature swings, and UV. A good quality film is needed for that...and yes, there are several examples of tint jobs that come from companies that don't believe you need a quality film around here, and I have had to r&r them. I am sure Blade can attest to this kind of thing as well (since he has relatively the same weather where he is) since apparently no other canucks are going to say anything.... Sorry I didn't pipe up earlier this thread slipped through the cracks..yeah One Slick is right..Film doesn't go bad up here so you can get buy any quality up here ???? Yeah Riiiiiight okay let me refrase it . You can get away with non metalised suntek film or global opposed to buying llumar metalised film with is about 40% more in price . The guys using the cheap chinese dyed film you buy for $40 a roll will go bad. Example i was in toronto in the early 90's and had been using sunguard up there for about 5 yrs or so . the courage boys owned it then. We never had film failure and when i moved to florida the sunguard was going bad in 2 yrs . Not till i got to florida i actually had to look at quality . Funny thing is..if you were from Toronto yo ucan't tell me you havn't sen film failure driving around all over the place..especially say 10 yrs ago..helllll I visit Toronto every no and then and see film failure all over the place..how can we both have been driving through the same city streets (you actully living there) and not see old purple bubbled up tint on cars no older than 5 yrs old ?? okay let me refrase it . You can get away with non metalased ATC to buying llumar metalised film ATR which is about 40% more in price . The guys using the cheap chinese dyed film you buy for $40 a roll will go bad anywhere even in alaska . Example i was in toronto in the 90's and had been using sunguard up there for about 7 yrs or so . the courage boys owned it then. We never had film failure and when i moved to florida the sunguard was going bad in 2-3 yrs . Not till i got to florida i actually had to look at quality of film . My wife was just up there and she went into a canadian tire and they offered tint there. Thats shocking? I hope walmart doesnt catch on . The guys around here who were claiming to only use Sungard had HUGE issues with it....within 2-3 years...in eastern Canada. This town still has a sour taste in its mouth when the name Sungard comes up. And its still the Courages guys that sell it.
