I recently had my 09 jetta sports wagon tinted all the way around including windshield, 35% on all except windshield which is 70% winco ceramic. I was quoted 380 but told if I paid cash the would lower the price to 360. Showed up the day of the install and the manager who quoted me the price said he didn't rmember me and he would never have quoted such a low price on a wagon. He then tells me the lowest he can go is 400. I reluctantly agreed to the price change. I waited the three days I was told to wait before rollsin down any of the windows and to let the air bubbles and glue marks work out and then bring the car back in for inspection. I brought it in and showed that there were some scratchs not just glue lines and the installer agreed the the one window for sure needed to be replaced and that if the other marks he still thought might be glue lines had not gone away in another week that they would need to be redone also. I was told to schedule a week away and on a Tuesday morning because that was usually a really slow day and he might need a large window of time to redo the tint. Day arrived lines still hadn't gone away and waited as my windows were replaced. As I waited three walkins asked for tint job now and they would wait. Secritary goes back in the shop and asks how much longer for my car he says about 45 min and I thought wow that was fast. Got my car be checked it over and only the one window with the seven inch scratch was replaced. I asked what was up and the manager said the other marks were inconsequencial and I was being unrealistic, he said as a general rule if you stand five feet from the car and can't see the scratchs then it's a passable job. I still have a three inch line "glue line" on my windshield and small on inch scratchs and some fine squigly scratchs on my driver and passanger windows. I'm in the army not making a ton of money and felt 400 was steep but worth it since it would reduce the glare and cut back on the heat for my newborn. For that price I felt I should have recieved better quality instalation. Am I being to picky? What should I do?

My rule of thumb. If I can see it, chances are the custy can see it. Even if it does cost me a little extra tint, I dont want to see that car ever again except maybe on the road looking good as hell lol2.gif twocents.gif

I am with everyone else, I would need to see pictures. If Wincos is what they put on your car and they told you it was ceramic then they lied to you. Wincos is an IR absorbing dyed film and doesn't have the heat rejection that a true ceramic does. Although still a very good film but not quite a ceramic.

and any "glue lines" that you would see would go away in the first few days. It would just be haziness from the water soaked up in the mounting adhesive, and usually goes away after the first 24 hours.

show us some pics, because I have a feeling your talking more about creases in the film, and scratches from using the wrong squeegee....

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
