whats this window graphic thing on cars, can anyone give me the lowdown on it as i wouldn`t mind adding it to the tinting. smile22.gif
Blade
Tint cut into graphics by either hand or computer.
DaleB
So you cut out graphics apply to glass then tint over them,i thought you couldn`t tint over anything. So to get started I need a plotter ? and what else to get going. On your pictures how did you do silver outline then get the blue inner?
Blade
I don't think you NEED a plotter. But with certain designs or lettering a plotter is nice. Yeah......some tinters say don't put tint on tint. I'm not one of 'em. I've done layering so many times it's ridiculous. Apply the tint design then tint over it. thumb.gif Some of the designs I've done I applied the cut-out design 1st. Some i've applied the film in the area where I want the design and THEN cut the design out! All the designs on that display window are hand-cut!
DaleB
Hand cut Fbigeyes.gif you must be good at art to do that, and thats something i`m not so i`ll have to go for the plotter thing."Cheers for the info But",much appreciated. So how did you get the silver outline and blue inner on one of your pictures.
Blade

:booga Believe it or not - it is fully handcutted. I will tell You truth - that moment our plotter was dead and show car was going to show - we simply have NO TIME. But we did it by hands of our Michael BigBeard and OLFA.

:booga And this plotter cutt - sorry small size... So we use both types of work. Which is better??? It depends... My installers have they own view on this problem...

Hey BLADE on your display window is that colored film or vinyl ? Looks cool, for instance on the blue flames how'd you get the silver outline ? Also how did you get the film to lay down on top of graphics like that ? I'd imagine up close you can see the outline of where the film didn't want to lay down over the graphics ? I'd appreciate any tips ? hmmmmmmm.gif
Blade
It's colored film. I installed silver film over the design and cut out the outline. thumb.gif You can see a slight outline around the design where the film overlaps. Gives it more detail. thumb.gif
tint_audiopros
thats awesome work BLADE beer.gif I need to try some @#$% like that. So you hand cut the flame graphic using blue film, you laid that down let it dry then put the silver mirror tint over it and cut that out leaving the outside edge, then tint the glass with charcoal film ? How do you get the film to lay down over the graphic do you have to relieve it by cutting ?
Blade
I just tint the charcoal over it and i'm done. thumb.gif
