I came across an article that is roughly two years old regarding electrochromatic technology that I thought did a good job explaining the features and benefits. I posted it over on my blog if you want to check it out.

cool vid leo. So is that actually a film applied to glass? How many watts does it take to sustain that vlt. when the circuit is on is it opaque or vice versa?

Yes, this is film. Not many watts - in reality nothing icon_mrgreen.gif

What would you say the cost was in USD to do that window in your video?

LEO,

Thanks for linking that video in. The film in the article is talking about tint though that can be controlled with some kind of potentiometer type device to allow you to control the range from dark to light. I like what you are showing, but it is either on or off, correct? Just want to make sure that I understand what you are showing us.

Good question. Will try tomorrow potentiometer.
I think no problem.

I have seen that for clear to opaque, but not varying degrees of tinting. This sounds like you can vary the VLT by using a potentiometer type device.

Leo are you using multiple layers of ceramic materials so the ions travel from one layer to another. Were a reversible solid state change happens causing it to absorb light reversing polarity to applied voltage that will make the ions migrate to the original layer. dunno.gif

Will ask that tomorrow at factory.
I never pay attention HOW THINGS IS DONE.

I think on the windows on the article, they are wired in to the facility power as they would be part of a construction project. As far as what Leo is showing, I do not know.
