Patrick, I just received a letter from 3M in the mail today. NGSG to own and operate the old LA Service Center effective Oct 1st. Congratulations. Can I start connecting the dots and you explain? NGSG inks an exclusive with 3M to be National Accounts Sales Group + NGSG buys LA Service Center and is now a Distributor of 3M window films. What does this add up too?

Vclimber, Before this goes down the wrong path, NGSG, LLC is taking over operations in LA with a division called Service Group Distribution. This will have no effect on the project management division called National Glass Service Group. They will continue to do what they have been doing. All jobs will be spec'd with 3M, installed by 3M authorized dealers, film ordered through each appropriate distribution center, etc. Service Group distribution will be the distributor for the 3 states on the west coast, but all other work will flow through the existing distribution network as it has already been doing. There really is no change other than the fact that NGSG, LLC (the parent) will be operating the center instead of 3M. Please do not forget, NGSG does not install anything. All installation is done by 3M installers at a rate that is agreed upon by all parties. NGSG has not taken any business, but we have brought new business to some of these dealers. Sorry that there is not anything more to it as I am sure that some will try and turn this into some big conspiracy.

I'm just looking for understanding because as you well know we are receiving a ton of news about suppliers making direct commercial sales and making use of their dealers as installers. The way I read the letter it says the former LA Service Center will now be " a fully independent distribution center owned and operated" under NGSG; the name being SGD. So NGSG, Zola, SGD all under same ownership, right? As you probably know I am wondering where the film sale is going? All I see you referring too here regarding the dealer is that they will have installations given to them. If this is true, then it comes across as contrary to how you explained the 3M NGSG National Account Sales arrangement.

With regard to NGSG, the installs and the film sale will be with the dealer as it has always been. As far as your other question, NGSG, LLC owns NGSG, Zola and now SGD. Absolutely nothing has changed regarding the NGSG piece and how it works. The dealer buys the film and does the install through their normal channels.

As I am sure someone like you can appreciate, many deals like this are in the works, but confidentiality prohibits sharing the information publicly. I do not think that makes me dishonest. That is just the way that these types of deals have to happen. I did not know until very recently that 3M chose us to take over this center. They had been speaking with us as well as several others from my understanding. NGSG LLC is trying to grow and prosper in this environment the same way everyone else is. However, I have not, and will not be dishonest with people while trying to pursue that growth. Some on these forums want to make everything into a much larger deal than it actually is. Some actually even question my transparency, but I am one of the few that actually posts on here with my full identity disclosed as you do also Stan. I am willing to discuss most anything regarding our business with anyone willing to be open minded. I have officially decided to ignore some that feel they already have the whole world figured out. No sense frustrating myself and wasting my time. I definitely do not put you in that catagory Stan, so I would welcome an open dialog with you at any time. Call me at 614-571-2174. Best Regards,

I like TTS thoughts but personally I think members who derail threads and cause trouble are basically defacing the site altogether. The rarely bring information to the board and they trash the threads and posts created by members who do bring things to share. Who would you rather have around? Thread trashing trouble makers or people that add to the benefit of the online community?

If there man enought to post it up they need to be man enough to stand behind it First off Willie I saw you had quoted me so just bite me If you want to make statements about manning up you should spend more time here on TD like you used too instead of the elitist board. And.... you need to learn to spell or use spell check. Bite me.......Nice mature response there Stan. I would have expected better Elitist board Now thats funny, I dont spend much time anywhere anymore, and I assure you if Im online and checking out the boards Im on all of them the same amount of time. Sorry dude, I got a wife and four kids to feed, I cant spend my time all day on these boards anymore spamming and looking for the next hack to put on the street. And speaking of that Stan, Im shocked that I dont see your name up there on the donate list. As much money as you have made off this site over the years you personally should be the top donor. Well I better quit, Ive toned it down alot here and everywhere else out of repect for Bossdude and the mods everywhere. Please dont start anything you cant finish. I'll check in when I can to see what immature gibberish you have to say. Other than have a good day

QUOTE (TTS @ Sep 14 2009, 05:48 PM) [*]716263[/*] Is this gonna be a rumble ?? Its kind of hard to rumble when the other side brings nothing to the ring. Im wondering also, if the Global distributors realize just how much business they have actually lost instead of gained by joining in the alliance with King Spam

Sorry for not being clearer. If my memory still serves me correctly, 3M has gone from corporate owned distribution to privately owned, then back to corporate owned, and now back to privately owned. Do you have any comment on why things have transitioned back and forth and what prevents this from happening again?
