Hello to all tinters world wide,
what is the best way to clean automotive glass and what type of lint free cloth/paper, squeegee(s) are used? Below is the process I use and still seem to have small particles of contamination......

1) Spray glass with Johnsons solution and scrub the glass
2) Shave and squeegee the glass
3) Spray and squeegee
4) Clean with slightly damp lint free paper
5) Clean with dry lint free paper
6) Wet the glass and apply film.

What other processes are tinters using?

Thanks,

Thanks Booms2Go, we'll give it a go. What squeegee do you use to clean the glass? We use the Unger pro handle with black squeegee blade.

Thanks,

That squeegee is more intended for FG use since its not that flexible. Pick up a black smoothie squeegee, the one with the grey tube on top. Then cut one since into an angle. Its the same material as what you have, just bigger and works a lot better for auto.

I spray and scrape the window, wrap a microfiber around a plat. ez reach and wipe that down the left side channel of the window to get all that crap out. Then use the black smoothie to squeegee the window dry from left to right. Then, using a clean part of the microfiber do the right side and bottom gasket the same was as the left. The microfibers pick up a lot more dirt than a paper towel does, and is a lot tougher and doesn't break appart and leave pieces.

Then spray and install(right away after for me, I do everything else before cleaning, then clean and install)

you hit that dead on the head

even though it says "lint free" they always can leave shite behind. just do a final squeegee with a yellow turbo or something similar before you apply or as booms says above

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
