This is a 1956 Chevy two-door sedan interior that we got done with a few weeks ago. It had to leave the shop for a show (memorial for the guys' brother) with the back seat sort of tucked in and a few odds and ends not done. It came back for the final fit and finish and left for it's second show a couple weeks ago. It was pretty well received. Looks like I've picked up three other jobs off of it.
The colors are a bit out of the orindary. Very intense tan (Vanguard Rust) for the main color, with green allante as the accent. It was a great match to the exterior color. The front seats are out of a whatever, and have been dished an extra couple inches to make them deep. The owner-built console was covered with everything to help it blend in and not look like a big ugly eyesore in the middle of the whole thing. We made the door panels all from scratch. The armrests are custom-made using wood and chipboard. Has anyone used the prefab fiberglass armrests before?? Faster, I'm sure.
The owner requested the bowtie in the headrests. That's not a problem. I put them in the floor mats just to fill the void. No problem. But when the car came back, he wanted a big bowtie in the backseat too. I was a little wary of it, but he liked the final results and that's what matters.
This was built just as a driver and "isn't a show car" according to the owner, even though it was in two shows in the first two weeks it was on the streets. I haven't talked to him in awhile to see if it's been out any more, but I'm hoping to run into it.
