I found this article which slams regular flat glass films in favor of "spectrally selective" films. Anyone with a few minutes should respond and give them an earfull. Does anyone know an engineer that doesn't auger from paralysis by analysis?

THats funny, the date on the page is 10-19-09, but I remember reading that article months ago. It is nothing new. Engineers who only look at the numbers on the films will spout anything. they never look at the cost that comes with some. If the cost is 2 or 3 times as much or more, then the building owner will probably opt for nothing if that is the only other choice.

I do like "spectrally select" films, but there are many errors in that article. Obviously, this was not written by an engineer. One big error was when he mentioned it would be cheaper to construct buildings without glass. Sorry dude, just the opposite. Builders started using more and more glass to make buildings because glass was much cheaper in the 70's than other construction materials. At least that is what I was taught.

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
