Full Version: laminted glass
i have a job to quote for which consists of 7 number laminated glass panels which measure 1.25m wide by 3m deep they are all butted together and they have the sun on them all day .logistically its impossible to film from the outside, if i film from the inside what should i be aware of am i correct in assuming that a film that absorbs less than 40% of the solar energy will be ok
i would talk to your rep about it to keep your butt safe.
Yeah i would only install film on the outside on laminated glass.Greatly reduces the risks of the units cracking keeping the absorbtion to as little as possible.I do it for piece of mind as well dont want to go back with all the units cracked.
Watch out for Lami-glass...heat absorbtion, even on th eoutside, can cause lamination failure. Use caution, I have seen it go bad. Had someone call me on a job we lost. The other guy installed the film and the lamination failed, seperated from the glass and fogged like hell. Asked me what they could do since the other guy wouldnt come back. Told him here's what he should do....learn a lesson from this, dont trust the one guy who promises the moon while the other three who also quoted were of the opposite mind on it. Then, go pay large $$$ to replace the lami and then call me. Some people never get it!!!
