I tinted the rear 3 windows of a red 2010 Accord coupe with a tan interior on the showroom floor of an east bay Honda dealer on 9/11. It was an unsold unit the dealer wanted to 'murder out', as they put it. It had 19" chrome wheels and I installed the 20% tint. Customers bought the car right off the floor, but didn't want the wheels, so they put the stock wheels back on it. I got a call last week with the custy complaining of 'bubbles' and wanted the front windows tinted with legal tint. So I go and tint the fronts with 70% and fix a couple tiny specks on the rear windows and replaced the left quarter tint because there were quite a few little bubbles that I found out were overspray of the black matrix surround. As a rule, I don't razor blade Honda glass as it's soft and prone to scratching. All's well, I thought, until just today I received another call from the manager with the customer complaining that I retinted the back 3 windows with lighter tint than what was originally on it. I explained to him what I did and he said they would bring the car back on Saturday for him to inspect. I then called the customer and explained what I did, but she could not grasp that I had not touched the rear windows except for the left rear quarter glass. She keeps insisting that it's lighter film, while I explained that because they bought it in the relative darkness of the showroom and the cars light tan interior, that it would 'appear' to look lighter outside. We'll see what happens, but I will charge them to redo it if it comes to that. Sorry for the long rant, I just wanted to get it off my chest before I proceed to jerk my hair off!!

stupid question, but does the car have a sunroof?? If so.....heres what im thinking, when they first got the car chance might be the sunroof cover thingy was closed, and now thats its outside they probably drive around with the cover thingy open, therefore letting more light in.....besides that if the front 2 were in a 20% along with the rest, redoing the fronts in a 70% will make the whole thing look lighter....just my twocents.gif

No sunroof...it's the cheapo version. The front windows were not tinted with 20%, as that's illegal here in CA. They were left as is. When the car came back earlier this week, THEN I applied the 80% film to the fronts. BTW, I use 80% on the front roll ups because the law states 'net' percentage...tint+glass. Thanks for your 2c's tho!!

They went lighter in the front, so more light comes in making the rear tint look lighter. Explain to her how light works.

OOps, didn't see the above post about the fronts not being tinted. :p

SOOO, I went back to the Honda dealer yesterday, yes on a Sunday, and removed the 20 and retinted with 5%. The customer is a complete a$$hole...he was carrying a rag in his back pocket (besides the recouperating little dog in his arms) and would wipe the car down after anyone touched it! The manager totally had my back. He gave them a new car to go to the mall while I did his car and they got a flat tire!!! HAHA! Even after I redid the window to the custy's satisfaction (and after said custy commented to the manager of the terribly hot working environment I worked in!), his wife was bitching and accused me of chipping the paint inside the door jam and leaving a stain on the seat! The entire dealer staff could not believe this guy and the manager asked me to come and tint up 2 new cars for the taking the time to deal with this customer, who they shued out asap! And no I didn't charge them. I did it for the dealer and NOT the customer.

That's the kind of behavior you usually see in BMW and Corvette owners, not Hondas! MAN. fdup2.gif

Oh yes, this customer was going on and on about how he just ordered the first upcoming Audi R8 convertible, while his other car is a BMW M5. What the he(( was he doing at a Honda store?

Only thing I can think of is people like to talk. I personally don't believe shiat until it rolls through the front doors.

i cant imagine what you mobile tinters have to go thru with people's shiat especially at dealers grinning_and_saying_no.gif

For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
