This could be usefull for anyone in sales so lets work together and make a good list.
Please ADD to it as you see fit.
BARS pros CANNOT ENTER WILL SCARE OFF WOULD BE INTRUDERS (lowers risk of glass break)
Cons UGLY BULKY CANNOT BE USED IN SOME SITUATIONS
SECURITY FILM pros If glass breaks water cannot enter or snow or wind (heat loss) If glass breaks a lot less mess (no picking out glass cubes from displays Prevents forced entry blocks UV No obstructions in view
cons Can Get through window if there long enough pounding away film is only as good as the frame strength With out signage, film does not deter would be thieves

I think theives can get through bars, it just depends on how long they are willing to try and what they use. I also don't think if a sign was put up notifying of security film would deter someone. Its the second or third throw of a brick that convinces them to give up and try somewhere else. I think you should put under pros for bars is stronger, but neither is useful against a car being driven through a window.

from an ex fireman's view..bars also prevent the right ppl from getting in (fireman) and also prevent ppl from getting out (victims) during fires and other emergencies.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
