Chevrolet Captiva - Airbags, help!!!!

Dear All,

We picked up a lovely new Chevrolet Captiva a few days ago, as we are due a baby in December we need to swirtch off the front airbags but can't seem to find out how to do so? The dealership said the button on the dash does it but I can't for the life of me find it, please help - model is an LT

It will be in the owners manual i am sure.

You would think so wouldn't you but I assure you it's not in the manual which worries me!!

in many new vehicles there's no button to turn them off, they have weight sensors in them to detect if smaller passengers are in the passenger seat. if they detect low weight then they are automatically disabled. that's how our mazda 3 is. you might check to see if that's the case with it.

side note though...it's illegal to have a baby seat or even young children in the front passenger seats here. i take it that's not the case there?
